Excited to have a full system for my 2017 touring model heading my way soon. Just wondering if anyone has any tips/tricks for removing the old exhaust/installing the new one. Looks like the crash guards and foot-boards probably have to come off. Anything else?
Yes, my problem started in a similar manner. I probably could have done fine without the replacement, but they couldn’t clear the check engine light or the traction control malfunction without replacing the switch. All done under warranty.
My V-9 is turning into my wife's bike. I need to lower it a bit for her. How much can it be safely lowered, and what shock length would be best? Recommendations for shocks please.
There isn’t a kit for the evap/tip valve mod. Take a look at the thread titled “evap removal from V7III” for detailed instructions that will work for your Bobber.
Are there any issues I should be concerned about with replacing the stock tires with Bias ply tires? Looking at trying Michelin Commander 3’s with a 180/65 rear.
Managed to do this mod without removing the engine guards. Not real easy to get to, but doable, obviously. I bought a couple of caps online from a place called HPS Performance Products. Item # is RSCC-038 size 3/8"/9.5mm(pic below). Probably overkill, and cost way too much at $12 each. Slipped...
Just looking at doing this on a touring model. The engine guards/crash bars are preventing me from getting a good look at the connection point between the steel tubes and the hoses. Was anyone able to do this without removing the engine guards?
Just picked up this 2017 Touring model, looks like new, just 3200 miles on it. Bought in Houston, just got it home to Sumter SC today. VIN ZGULCUB05HM000019. Joins my V9 Bobber in the garage, also a 2017. It’s doing the moaning whale act, so I have some work to do.
Took care of my evap & tip valve, and installed the SAS block-off kit today. If I can do it, anyone can. Was able to gut the tip valve (and successfully put it back together) and leave the fuel drain connected to the evap cannister. Found a great little low-profile rachet that worked great for...
Had to get my start switch replaced at about 1500 miles. It was sticking in the start position, so the bike would start when I pushed the kill switch to the run position. Tripped a check engine light and traction control fault. (Because of the traction control calibration procedure)
Apologize if this has been addressed before, but it seems like all of the posts on this thread are about the V7. Anyone do this to a V9, and are there any install or operational issues peculiar to the V9?
