Its a bit agricultural, just like Moto Guzzi, but it works and I'm very happy with it. Saves me from extreme pain in the second joint of my left big toe.
JC3, I have made a heel/toe shifter for my V85 as well and love it, nice smooth changes no problem (17.5K on the clock). I do have PivotPez on my bike, I think helps with the gear change. Just have to be careful putting the side stand out as a couple of times I have accidently knocked it into...
When mine did this, I removed the shock and found the spherical bearings in each end of the shock to be dry and dirty, I cleaned and greased them and no more problems.
Mine were just sort loose at about 2000k, I did them up properly (don't try and over tighten them where they go into the sump, it is only aluminum after all), rechecked 2 times after that and no more problem and NO loctite used. 12500ish k on Bella now and very happy with her.
The nut is #17 (2B002536) in the parts manual, from what i see in the parts manual and the overhaul manual it appears to be a fairly standard looking industrial style lock nut, I haven't pulled it apart as yet.
I have scoured the manuals and cannot find the torque setting for the crown wheel ring nut on a V85 TT, can anybody help me with this? I have found tensions for all sorts of things in the various manuals, but not the one I am looking for. I need the torque setting for the crown wheel nut in the...
After checking Google maps to see where you are I would suggest starting at Peter Stevens in Geelong. That's if you are allowed to move out of your suburb, just jokin, lol. But probably an easy place to start.
You might be surprised, after all it is winter here at present lolol. Also useful on long trips when the hands start going numb, helps with blood flow.
What a coincidence, I just had a call from my local (1300k away) friendly Guzzi and Aprilia dealer to tell me the genuine Caponord fender extender I ordered umpteen months ago has just arrived. And the clown had the nerve to ask if I still wanted it lolol. Once it arrives I will fit and post a...
Things are starting to come back to me now, its been a while since I had a Cali, Look down between the barrel and the tank, you should see a hose attached to around the middle of the head, make sure you don't have a leak at the hose or fitting.
Thats a pretty broad question, but you would hope it just needs new rocker box gaskets. Not sure about in Vic, but would suggest starting with your local friendly Moto Guzzi dealer.
Way back when in the mid 90's i had a Sport 1100 (awesome bike) But the diff oil would turn black and be very watery (and stink like you wouldn't believe) after about every 3000Ks, I changed to a 50/50 mix of the recommended oil and "Morey's Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer". Problem solved, only ever...
