Norge 2V. Fuel, compression but no spark

    Terrific. Many thanks.

Norge 2V. Fuel, compression but no spark

Some excellent help there. Thanks so much. I checked for a spark with the plugs out and well earthed and have no spark. If the cam sensor triggers a pulse to each of the coils, injectors and fuel pump, and if that is dodgy, that would explain why I cannot release the fuel pressure by cranking...

Norge 2V. Fuel, compression but no spark

I really do read all the replies I get in their entirety as I appreciate every one. I'm sure you read mine through as well, so you will appreciate that I have disconnected theese numerous times so I know about the squirt of lubricant, the pushing, pulling and wiggling, but I still cannot shift...

Norge 2V. Fuel, compression but no spark

Many thanks for the replies. I don't want to get too hung up on the fuel connector. I'm on my third Norge and have had the connectors off a number of times, always running with the pump disconnected until it stopped. With that, they came off easily enough. This one, however, will not budge...

Norge 2V. Fuel, compression but no spark

I am trying to sort a problem on my son's 2009 Norge, 2 valve and would appreciate some help, or opinions. When the key switch is activated I hear a click and the fuel pump primes with no tell-tale 'swoosh' in the tank. Three seconds later I hear the second click. So far so good - tank internals...

08 Norge clunk feeling in fork when compressed

I'm pretty sure that my clunk happens before my forks would have the time to reach maximum travel, and I don't think they are doing that anyway. I'll do a bit more investigation when I get the chance. I always lightly grease the upper sections of the fork legs to prevent corrosion in that area...

08 Norge clunk feeling in fork when compressed

Thanks for the reply John. I'm just back from a trip to the pyrenees and I'm happy with my suspension settings, but I still get one clunk from somewhere up front when I initially apply the front brake hard. Baffled. Brian

08 Norge clunk feeling in fork when compressed

I'm wondering was there a solution found for this? I have what sounds like the same issue, i.e. one clunk when I brake reasonably hard and then a smooth stop. If it was head bearings or wear somewhere I thought it should result in a shudder rather than one clunk. My caliper bolts are tight so I...

    Norge front brake lock-up

Thanks for the reply, John. I was out on it today and the brakes worked fine. I'll go lightly for a while and see how they are. I came to a stop today with smoke billowing up from my right hand exhaust header, so my brakes are taking a back seat till I find out what's spilling oil on there. I'm...

    Norge front brake lock-up

Hi Folks, Just over a year ago I bought a 2015 Norge which had very low mileage, it having been a demo bike. All was well until recently my front brakes locked up. Luckily I didn't need a high level of skill to control the situation as it happened when I reversed down my driveway and applied the...

Looking at the wrong page alright, Brian. Thanks again. Brian

    Norge oil sump gasket

I really appreciate that, Brian. Many thanks. As I'm typing I have table no. 57 of the parts manual beside me and there's no sign of this gasket, so having the part number is a game changer.

    Norge oil sump gasket

I had to drop the sump of my son's Norge today to get a strap wrench onto the oil filter as the 14 flat tool was slipping around. It actually took me on the strap and him on the proper tool at the same time to undoo the filter, so I'll be having words with the guy who serviced it last. Anyway...

    Norge suspension linkage bolt seized

That mix might just be what will do it for me. I put a fair amount of heat on it today, but no joy. It's incredible. I'm concerned about cracking the casting,so thanks for that tip. I have some ATF and I can get Acetone on Monday, so I've pushed the temptation to cut metal to the back of my mind...

    Norge suspension linkage bolt seized

I hear a lot of criticism about the rear suspension bearings not being lubricated at the factory. In the case of my son's 2009/2010 Norge the bearings had been lubricated but the head of the bolt that fixes the rear shock linkage to the swing arm casting is completely seized in the block of the...

    Dry Clutch Replacement on Norge

Hi NPS, Many thanks for the offer. I'm sure it's easy, but I can't just see how to send a PM. Dhoh! I do need the clutch centering tool, but I see that is available for hire for £10 (plus postage I suppose) and as I have some parts to order, that postage might work out cheaper if the parts and...

    Dry Clutch Replacement on Norge

Reckon I'll take your advice on that so John. Checking on that link makes me sorry that I live in Dublin, Ireland and not Dublin, Ohio. Although, with their price on the flywheel locking tool in particular, I think it might be a bargain, even with the postage. Brian

    Dry Clutch Replacement on Norge

Well, the engine has been lowered and the gearbox removed, to reveal a further mystery. The clutch pushrod has a 'head' on it, like that of a flat-headed rivet, and I doubt if that is normal. It has also been getting very hot and is discoloured. It won't pull out of the main clutch shaft of the...

    2009 stelvio clutch pipe change

I might be too late coming to this post, but it's worth checking (maybe even replacing) the clutch thrust bearing while you have the slave cylinder off. Brian

    Dry Clutch Replacement on Norge

I was wondering about that, John. The bike is a 2 valve/head model and the registration document says it was manufactured in 2010. The letter in the chassis number that corresponds to the year of manufacture is an A, and I'm guessing that that means a year ending in zero, which would confirm the...
