    2020 Eldorado windshield bracket

I bought two new exhaust headers fit my 2014 custom. I’m in the UK. I was told they were discontinued. I argued that they were still being fitted to the touring, the MGX21 and (in black) to the Audace. They said “Guzzi does this frequently”. Anyway they (the headers) magically appeared two...

Has anybody heard if the 1400 series is to be discontinued?

The website has MY20 after all the 1400 models so maybe it’s true. See attachment.

    Lafranconi accessory mufflers

Sorry. No insult intended. I had just woken here in the UK so skim read your message. This is a topic dear to my heart as I looked at my new pipes for about 2 weeks before summing up the courage to get the Dremel out...

    Lafranconi accessory mufflers

It's odd. It's designed to be tampered with, but not easily. So LaFranconi can legitimately say it wasn't supposed to be tampered with and have plausible deniability. Of course they are tampered with by every buyer. There would be zero point buying the LaFranconis otherwise. But at least LF are...

    Lafranconi accessory mufflers

hi Dave, I bought these in November and spent a happy three hours dremeling (is that a word?) the welds out. I didn’t hurt anything but it was a job and a half. I didn’t read the lengthy other reply here, but the reason they’re welded is that they can’t be sold as street legal if they don’t...

2016 Eldo Trickle Charge - need to remove fuse?

I had an issue with small optimate units where they just didn’t. So I bought a serious optimate meant for workshops and it’s fine. Never taken a fuse out, though it probably would have meant the small trickle chargers would have worked. Imagine the pfaff of removing a fuse every time :-(

    License plate lamp...

Thanks Dave. Turned out to be a previous owner issue. The connector under the rear fender linking the tail light assembly to the loom has obviously given trouble and someone has replaced it with crimped on bullets wrapped in electrical tape. When I unwrapped the tape a wire fell out. So replaced...

    License plate lamp...

At my recent vehicle inspection (UK... MOT) the tester warned me my license plate bulb was out. Should have been a fail, but I know the guy... Anyway, I have changed the bulb and it's still out, and I had used the Fluke on it after removing the 'duff' bulb. Now when I did this I only got 9V but...

    Micro-fiber cloth

It's reassuring to know that I'm not alone. But my heart goes out to you all. It is a first-world problem, and the world has bigger fish to fry right now, but it's very annoying, damaging and time consuming. So... if you're among the 5% who haven't melted something onto your headers, be careful.

    Micro-fiber cloth

Word of caution from a self-confessed 20:20 hindsight idiot. if your bike is wet and you start to dry it with a micro-fibre (UK spelling) cloth. Don’t let the cloth swing and land on the red hot headers. No material is harder or more solvent resistant than melted polyester. In the end the...

    Eldorado Voltage

Yes. My 1400 Custom has the exact same voltmeter function. My point is that you’d have to know the internal resistance of the battery and the charge/discharge current before you could even start to decide there might be an issue. And the battery temperature would have to be in the equation...

    Eldorado Voltage

This answer’s probably no use at all, but that all sounds perfectly normal to me. Also with no measurement of charging current or drain current, the voltmeter readings aren’t much use I don’t think. Also a 0.2 volt drop (from 13.8) is 1.4%, and your 50W vests are 9% of the rated capacity of the...

    Touring Handlebar misfit?

The bars are 28mm. Here’s a detail shot... the cutouts in my risers are heart shaped and the tops are rounded. Yours are different!

    Touring Handlebar misfit?

The risers look wrong to me. This picture shows mine from my 2014 Custom. Although I’ve just had another look and I’m not sure. I’ll go measure my bar diameter in a mo.

    LED running lights

Connect the lights one at a time. Or rather connect the second light without the first one being connected. That way you can see if it’s the combined load of both lamps that causes the issue, or the second lamp is faulty. You know the first lamp is ok. If the second lamp has a fault then...

Red cylinder head covers for 2014 California 1400 Custom?

Or have yours powder coated red and then linish the fins.
  20. Paul Ash

Red cylinder head covers for 2014 California 1400 Custom?

The Audace Carbon has then as standard I believe so they must be orderable from Guzzi. The covers are the same for all 1400 models.
