After 2 weeks, my verdict.
F-ing AWESOME 8-) Really happy.
Was a bit loud the 1st few days, but I’ve gotten use to that (or gone deaf) Quite a big improvement and I was already happy with how she ran. Unfortunately I’ll probably never buy a bike without a full system again after experiencing...
I’m at 20,000 on my 1200 Sport and have been changing engine oil and filters every 5,000km.
I’m thinking of perhaps changing the oil filter every 10,000km while still doing the oil every 5,000km.
Thoughts? The filters only $30, so it’s not like its expensive, but no point just throwing them...
The “fuel pipe” that drains from the air box (Part AP8144038 from table 28 in the spare parts catalogue) Does it need to be plugged or can it just be left open.
My plug has managed to escape  and I’m probably happy enough leaving it open if I can.
A few have had similar issue on 1200 Sports. I have, and my master cylinder is currently getting replaced since it lost some paint.
So many of us have done something like this
Perhaps that may help you.
bit of a late reply here too :)
Could well be, the attitude of ONE of the guys at JSG.
I’m a pretty patient guy. My Sport is in this week finally getting the exhaust replaced that was claimed under warranty in November 09. Some of that delay is my fault. I’ve been injured and unable to ride...
Thanks for posting. What was the cheap camera? The picture looked quite good.
Nice to see a bike video where you can actually see the bike too. I hardly ever get so see another Guzzi so I was thinking “so that’s what I look like” :)
Good to know everyone seems to like Pirelli's and 10,000km is about what I expect from a rear.
I like my tires SOFT (I need all the help I can get to keep up ) But it seems that in this size specifications just talk about getting longer wear.
akos27 - impressive getting the 750 to shred...
(been watching this one in the CARC thread :) )
Since our old GS500 runs the same size wheels and is a similar weight and power I’ve taken copied this from the GS500 wiki
(which seems to have disappeared from stanford.edu :( )

Thank you for the offer and the info Steve. Nothing fell off this trip so the replacement seems good for now :) but I will check out Coventry Fasteners and I’m sure the Guzzi agent can get me some at the next service if it comes to that.
They say the only stupid question is one you don’t ask...
Thanks.
Currently I'm probably going to keep the airbox and get them to just install the exhaust sometime around the 12/7 (I've got a few road trips at the moment)
Apparently they think they can just re-flash the ECU with their AXION but.
1. Can that be done? They are a new Guzzi agent...
I was given my 1200Sport Friday lunchtime to test ride for the weekend (I was thinking of buying a Ducati) with the request not to put too many km's on it. I took it back Saturday lunchtime with over 200km added to it, just couldn't stop riding.
My 15 min trip home on Friday night took 2 hours...
I love riding our 750 Breva and I'd have a V7 in a heartbeat (if the money fell from the sky ) so it's not really about figures on paper, out there in the world they do a good job.
Of course my 1200Sport is much faster (but it was 3 times the price of the 2nd-hand 750 and 4x more for...
I went down to Boltmasters. Apparently it’s an unusual screw, the guy though it was probably off a faring assembly on a motorbike :) But I got a 12mm screw that will do for tomorrows trip. I’ll hide it under the seat till I get a pretty replacement and use the correct part on the mudguard.
Also...
You welcome to the Guzzi family. Coming from a Buell to a Sport it seems like big V twins are what you like. The Guzzi won’t disappoint
If it’s earlier than an ’09 model they have lower handlebars. While I like my ‘08 people have fitted Aprila Mana bars (same bar as an ’09 Sport but strangely...
Bunnings could be a plan, there is also a place called Boltmasters near where I work, that sounds promising.
According to the parts manual its an AP8152302 and there are only 8 on the bike. 4 holding on the “water cooler grill” that you remove to take off the tank, 4 for the front...
