    Interesting Stelvio get-off

Yeah, I was wondering that myself. Is there any wonder why he had to replace the windshield? I'm surprised he didn't damage the brackets. Cory

    Guzzi dealer/service in Atlantic Canada?

Unfortunately Gearhead still holds the Piaggio dealership here in Ottawa. I was at the Powersports shop last Thursday and they had a 2004 or 2006 1100 Breva in excellent shape but it was sold. They now also have a Yamaha dealership, so they pawn Honda and Yamaha sbikes now. Never done business...

    Rotopax on Stelvio anyone?

Hey Dan, That looks great. However, given you don't have any Givi bags to test the bracket with bags attached, are you sure you will be able to mount some Givi panniers with that bracket? If it does that's cool. Maybe I will install one and we can do a trip to Vermont and haul back a gallon of...

    Hand guard Rattle

I had the same problem and the source of the rattle was the hand guard vibrating on the brake fluid reservoir. I fixed it by Krazy gluing a piece of rubber (about 1"x 1/2" x 1/8") on the hand guard towards the back of the reservoir. That little piece of rubber made the hand guard fit snugly...

    re-called in Canada

Welcome to the great service of Gearhead in Ottawa. This is the dealer that is a 10 minute ride from my place and a 30 minute walk yet I refuse to deal with them (and they refuse to deal with me because I bought my '09 Stelvio from Moto International for $7k less than they were selling an '08...

    Stelvio down! Stelvio down!

Not really a ride report, but probably the best place for this story on GuzziTech. Last Friday I took a dump on my flaming red Stelvio. Fortunately I was not physically injured, but certainly am disappointed in myself. I don't think I did anything to cause the accident, but probably could have...

    Turn Signal Lenses

I think the bike has a standard mirror nut size. MPH Cycle shipped me a pair of Aprilia mirrors, another regular poster is using mirrors off a V-Strom, and another Guzzi owner here in Ottawa (who has a CalVin or something similar) just bought a pair of mirrors at Crappy Tire. I'd suggest just...

    ECU 62 error

I think the answer to this question is "Yes". When I turn the key something in the vicinity of the stepper motor sounds like it is doing a power-on self test (POST for you computer geeks). However, now that I think of what else it could be, I realize the sound may also be the fuel pump priming...

    ECU 62 error

So just a point of clarification - the throttle position was set to 5.3 degrees, not 5.8. Pete had set it to 4.7 when he was in town, but the day after the bike idled at 800-900 RPMs, so I blindly (without a diagnostic tool) "tweaked" the screw  to get the idle in the right range...

    ECU 62 error

So DanPez came to Ottawa where we sucked back some microbrews and chowed down on some Elk burgers. He brought his VDST so we hooked it up to my Stelvio to check out the error code on my dash (my Stelvio is spitting out an ECU 62 error [Error stepper C.C. Ground], and now an EC #00 [Other]). We...

    Norge in my future

There is no duty on motorcycles imported into Canada, new or used. You just pay your sales taxes and the $200 RIV ("importation extortion") fee. MI sells bikes at good prices because Dave picks up many of the bikes that are returned to Piaggio from other dealerships (whose floor plan period...

    Mounting a Pelican Top Case?

I'm not sure how much gas you're planning on putting on top of the Pelican, but fuel is heavy. I'd ensure your rear rack is rated to sustain the weight of a full trunk and a few gallons of gas. I'd also be concerned about the handling dynamics of the bike being significantly altered with so much...

    Motorcyclest Arrested by Maryland Police

Appears as though he's being charged with violating state wiretapping laws. I'm sure even a first year law student will have a field day defending against that. Even if a judge overlooks the fact that Anthony had no intent on "wiretapping" the conversation, the video clearly shows that the...

    Norge in my future

I sent you an e-mail about this but I'll post it for all to see. I confirmed that Piaggio provides a North American-wide warranty (possibly worldwide) so a US bike imported into Canada remains covered by the original warranty and vice-versa. Unfortunately Piaggio doesn't warrant that you will...

    Seattle to Ottawa

I didn't get any photos going through Banff National Park. If you stay on the main highway there is really nothing to take pictures of because Parks Canada has basically ruined the scenery by twinning the highway and putting in the huge ditches and fences to keep the wildlife off the highway...
