    California 1400 plug wires

At how many miles you changed those wires? I purchased plugs already but not intending to change wires until I cross more than 24k miles.

    Key Cloning

I don't know what was done but as far as I can tell, Dash is still the same. It had tiny scratch on right side from when I was removing windshield which is still there. Not sure if they also sent it to Carmo Electronics in NL :)

    Key Cloning

Before sending Dash and Keys to Piaggio, my local dealer tried to get some very expert key cloner in Berkeley, CA who does cloning of keys for Ducati and other Italian bikes. He was able to clone the key but that didn't solve my problem of red triangle obviously. In the end dealer gave me those...

    Key Cloning

First of all make sure the keys blanks are SKU 2D000004. I had a friend of mine who was screwed by dealer by giving him a wrong keys blank which were for older California models. Those look identical but have a different transponder chip in it which will never marry to 2014-2020 California...

    Cali 1400 Custom Windshield

Thanks a lot for details, John. Looks like the next project for me.

    Cali 1400 Custom Windshield

I can see what material you used for making those two vertical strips or L-channel. What did you use for the last picture showing mid-brackets pushed out by inch or more? Looks shiny/chrome like as well. Did you have to do any adjustments to the bottom most bracket that sits under triple...

How many miles on a tank of fuel? Fuel seeping out of cap

I see roughly 5-6% increase in mileage in Touring mode but I love the ride in Veloce mode :-)

    Red Code Card

Looks like you are stuck in that case. I would suggest going locksmith route to try getting key cloned. If that doesn't work then either you make sure NOT TO LOOSE original key ever or use services of Carmo from NL only.

    Red Code Card

You can try that route to see if a locksmith is able to successfully clone the key. Don't know if others were successful here or not but near me in Berkeley,CA there is a locksmith that apparently clones keys for Ducati, Moto Guzzi and other Italian moto brands. I didn't go that route though.

    Red Code Card

I wish you best of luck that you find your user code. But if you can't find then read below. @roadventure has pointed out in past to me that only source that can handle the situation is Carmo electronics in Netherlands by sending your Dash and keys to them for about 300-400 bucks.

    Red Code Card

    I second that.

    Red Code Card

As Dave suggested, it is worth a try searching for prior user. Another suggestion is look at the Registry thread of Cal1400 maintained by Todd and hopefully if you are lucky you might find your bike listed there and track who owned it. Did you try last 5 digits of your VIN as code yet? Below...

Site was having issues. I was finally able to search threads about fuel pump removal.

    Red Code Card

Hi Mike, Please try last 5 digits of your Cal1400's VIN number too. Otherwise it is likely that Seller had set a code through Menu >> Service option and didn't tell you. If he was the second owner and don't know then you are out of luck. I am already in that rabbit hole of red triangle on my...

    24K maintenance

@Pete BoBeet Mine is 2014 Cal1400 with VIN ending in 000050 so it must be one of the early builds. How easy it is to remove that fuel pump from tank? I am nearing 6k miles and going to perform service soon so planning to take it out first to see and if I see that half metal half plastic then...

I am also on the list of red triangle issue trying to register keys

@FrankZ I got two keys from Moto Guzzi dealer and they verified that keys are correct part number (Guzzi SKU: 2D000004). My two trips to get rid of red triangle has gone nowhere near fixing the issue. As of now dealer is waiting on Piaggio corp to make a decision. I am being told that Piaggio...

Looks amazing. Have fun riding Cal1400

front rim damage due to pothole

I am also from Nor-cal area (Fremont). I also suggest the same as others mentioned here. It seems no brainer with the price quoted by Todd to you compared to dealer's quote. Any motorcycle shop should be able to switch and put tires on for you for 20-30 bucks if you can remove the front wheel...

    unburnt fuel smell

Todd, Thanks for the info. I went through details on thread and very tempting to me to go that route. Currently in a cash crunch with only myself having a job in a family of 6 with 4 teens in 10th grade through 3rd year of college. Hopefully things will change soon with my better half getting a...

    unburnt fuel smell

Please look at attached picture. That is what I see on both sides. Not sure if that is the cat. I have seen cat on car but those look totally different than these. These are like flex joint area if I go by my car knowledge.
