I found Paint codes somewhere in here. When the inquiry was made to the local autobody supply, They told me it was actually one of the best quality base/clear paints on the market. With the red on my Norge costing $330.00 per pint. Enough to paint the whole bike 2 times. I just needed to repaint...

    Monoshock removal

While replacing the mono shock in my 07 Norge, I replaced all the needle bearings and seals in the linkage. I attempted to find them locally and did find them. However, the bearings I found had cadged needles with less than half the needle count. this was determined unsatisfactory as the low...

Where can I get a spare key made?

This is not a cheap endeavor. After talking to my local locksmith that said he could not get the correct blanks but could make the cuts, I ended up buying the blank keys from Harpers($125.00 with shipping) and had B-Town locks in Burien WA cut the grooves.($24.00ea) The funny part is that I...

I've been working on my 2007 Norge...

Copper wssher Take a thick copper washer the correct size and heat it up until it's blue. Then put that on your sensor. I like to use loctite 518 where sealant is required on gaskets. It doesn't harden unless squished. the excess washes away in the oil. For the valve covers, put loctite 518...

I've been working on my 2007 Norge...

Heat! If you don't have a heat gun. Go borrow the wife's hair dryer. Cover half of the air intake of the dryer will make the air hotter. Warm up the rubber bits to make them comply... oh I mean plyable. and apply just a tiny bit of silicone lube to the flanges. Patience and perseverance. If...

Breva 1100 Matris Cartridge Fork Installation Report

I just put the matris kits in my 07 norge and the bushings slide right through eachother. It's tight but they will go. If you're worried about it during reassembly, the bushing on the outer tube can be carefully installed after the inner tube is installed. Get it started and put the washer for...

Norge Rear Wheel Removal Advice needed

Yep, super easy. I use an electric impact to remove and a torque wrench to install. The one thing that frustrated me was the inner spray fender bracket got bent and rubbed on the tire. I have been running the pilot road 5. I'm about to try the conti road attack 3. It rains a lot in the PNW and...

    the heat is killing me

Well then. I'm going to be working in that area and a little pre-emptive action seems to be called for. I did experience a heat related leak from the left side. It turned out to be an oring in the cam sensor. Replaced it with one made of viton.

Oil seepage on left side front

I had a leak from the same area. It was the o ring on the cam sensor. I put in a new one made of viton just because it's a better material, buna works just fine. I wouldn't put any sealant on it unless there is damage to the sealing surfaces.

    rocker gasket

Curiosity compels me to ask what the physical characteristics of this sealant are? Is it similar to RTV or more like an anerobic sealant similar to loctite 518? They both have their place. I personally prefer to use the anerobic sealant. It only hardens when you squish it, any excess washes away...

I totally appreciate your in-depth involvement in trying to figure out how this stepper motor works. I have the same mindset. I have the center stand. I'm going deeper than the center stand is practical. With the forks off u had to build a stand for the front. I bolted a couple blocks of wood to the front of the engine block. Then for rear suspension work at the same time a sawhorse was built to fit under The wheel...

    1200 Sport 4v work stand?

On a similar note, I am looking for a stand that will fit into the tubes on each side, just below the saddle. I built a simple T-stand that bolts into some threaded mounts on the engine block to support the front during fork work. Now i'm digging into the rear for shock replacement and swingarm...
