    Gearbox problem?

Whiny small blocks are one of those facts of life. It's partly because they have straight cut gears unlike their heavier cousins. The other reason can be that the hardening comes off the gear teeth, but once this happens and it gets noisy it doesn't seem to get any worse. MIne whines...

    Pros /Cons on Centerstand

I have one on my Breva 750 and wouldn't be without it. It makes filling it up with petrol easier if nothing else. Plus I use it whenever I have to remove a wheel to change the tyre, or check the oil, If you are in the US and you have a US pattern sidestand, be aware that it is longer than the...

Is the 750 Breva the red-headed stepchild of Guzzi?

A bit late replying because I haven't been on here for a while. I have the colour matched H&B bags with a GIVI top box and it works pretty well. The GIVI box has it's own mounting that works alongside the bag frames without interference, except that when the rear mounting of the bag frames...

    New V7C-S Section

Re: New V7C-R Section A Great idea, but why not separate it at EFI/Non EFI smallblocks? Those with Brevas and Nevadas have more in common with the V7s than the older machines, and some of the stuff that appears here is applicable to them as well.

    Zard Headers and Silencers

It's an interesting concept. How is your gearbox drain plug access?

    Fuel injection or carburetor

I have an '03 model. Definitely all fuel injected. Not sure which year, but at some point 5th gear was made slightly taller for Euro IV reasons. Other than that there is little difference between the 03 and the current ones apart from some production fixes.

    New Breva 750 Owner

Mine has a factory accessory touring screen: I use this bike for daily commuting, including a highway section with a 90km/h (55MPH) speed limit. I've never tried it without the screen because it was on the bike when I bought it. There is some noise, but I am unsure if the screen is causing it...

Nevada 2007 EFi light & wont start

It's not the lambda probe alone. I had an intermittent problem with mine (verified by VDSTS that it was the Lambda probe) due to a dodgy connector that would light up the EFI light with no discernible effect on the engine operation. I have had this mysterious stopping problem a couple of times...

    Nevada Classic Engine Stops

SIdestand switch is fitted over the sidestand pivot and attaches by one small bolt. Gearbox neutral switch is on top of the gearbox near the back where the shaft comes out. That one's a pain to get to. If your neutral light comes on correctly, it's not that one. Guzzi sidestand switches are...

    Brake lever substitutions

After my wife launched my 750 Breva up the driveway, I find myself in need of a new front brake lever. I fixed the rear one by turning up a new aluminium peg to replace the one that broke off. My front brake lever is now bent into a C shape. I have heard that it is possible to substitute...

cold start / stalling / clutch

I have the same cold start/stalling issue. In my case, the left hand coil keeps getting furred up where the plug lead connects. Each time I clean it, it gets better and then gradually gets worse until I pull it out and clean it again. this requires tank removal (at least partially) to get at the...

    Off with its heads!

Put the new gasket in (only did the side that was leaking in the end - lazy me!). When I pulled out the old one, it became immediately apparent why it leaked (see below) Now I'm not sure if this is the original factory gasket( the bike is 9 years old). The problem lies with the gasket itself...

Breva 750 TPS range not quite right

And there it is. I should have tried that first. Link for those googling here: https://www.guzzitech.com/forum/160/1676.html That would probably explain it. I'll give that a go. Thanks John.

Breva 750 TPS range not quite right

Hi all, Just got my VDSTS today and hooked it up to try it out. The throttle position seems to only go up to about 58°, but the physical throttles go all the way open. I've tried resetting the TPS according to the instructions with no effect. According to TFM, the range should go up to 85° or...

    V50 Cluitch sticking

Now see, that's the way I should have done it instead of starting at the wheel and working forward. BTW, it must be a pain when small parts fall through that grating. Is that an inspection pit?

    600 Mile Service

I use the officially alternative 15W/50 because it's possible to get. I live in a warmish climate so the 10W is not really necessary.

    V50 Cluitch sticking

I have just completed a clutch replacement on my 750 Breva, which is similar. There are a couple of on line guides to gearbox removal that will help if you need to go that far. It should at least give you some idea of what you are in for. Some guidance here...

    Off with its heads!

So now, after weeks spent getting teh gearbox in and out, I hear a funny noise on the way home. Checking I see where oil has been spraying out from the RHS head gasket join. F#%k it! I might as well do both of them then... :( Head gaskets bought, and more work on the way. Hopefully it will...

Breva 750 leaking rear main bearing

Thanks, John. I'll remember that link. That's a pretty good price compared to what I've seen elsewhere. The problem appears to have fixed itself. No further sign of the EFI light. :? This tends to support what you have suggested Pete. I DID move a lot of wires around, including unmounting...
