Is Moto Guzzi "DEAD" in Florida and America?

Postscript: Since the old thread got revived I DO have fond memories of the bike. Actually missed it. That absolutely beautiful V9 went "down the road" with both seats, Guzzi saddlebags, two sets of racks and way more for $48 hundred. Hope the new owner had fun with it this past Summer and...

V9 Roamer Flyscreen and random chatter

After I got crippled with RA it took maybe 8 months before i could walk and do things kind of normally. Rode NO motorcycles in that time as I had no reasonable control of my hands and weak legs. That is when I bought the automatic Ryker. Throttle, cruise control and a foot brake are all the...

V9 Roamer Flyscreen and random chatter

My wife flunked her test multiple times decades ago. I tried her on a Honda 90. She earned the nickname “crash”. Loves to ride and at age 75 there is no option for her to learn. heat was never an option for any of my Moto Guzzi’s. Harley’s are HOT but the best fun. On two wheels. Sometimes...

V9 Roamer Flyscreen and random chatter

I called it a “fly screen”. It kept wind off my chest and did not introduce any buffeting. You needed a full-face helmet at speed as it did nothing for your face. As an aside, I sold ( more like gave away ) the V9 Roamer. Months of advertising got me no responses. Reducing the price to...

Valve Adjustment Ended Before It Begun...

The operative word is "usually". Of course if you are messed up then this is just part of life. Thanks for the tip.

Valve Adjustment Ended Before It Begun...

Never thought of a left hand drill bit. Creative idea as long as it bites and does not drill. Happy for you.

Valve Adjustment Ended Before It Begun...

I have used an impact wrench with a screwdriver bit that grabbed inside the head. A good pounding has taken stuff like that apart. My V9 never had any issue like that. Only issue is I literally can't give it away but that's another topic.

6 Years storage new V9 Bobber

I have a Roamer that is near mint with lots and lots of extras. Never got a bite at the $6200 asking. They are a good riding bike with great fuel mileage and power. I would not be selling mine if my left hand could pull in a clutch any more. Doubt you would get "hurt" on the price. Just...

Is Moto Guzzi "DEAD" in Florida and America?

Did not recognize the Rotex engine in that MZ. Ron Wood did some neat things with Rotex. The new Can Am Ryker I bought has a 900cc Rotex engine. They have a great reputation. With only 3,000 miles on mine I am getting the feeling it is super powerful. Just does not have a good sound like twins...

Is Moto Guzzi "DEAD" in Florida and America?

When I left Pennsylvania for Florida in 1999, a neighbor farmer bought a new MZ right after I left. Went back to visit in 2001 and he still had it. Visited again in around 2015. He was still alive and riding another MZ. This time it was a four stroke. Nice bike. Always liked MZ and Moto Guzzi...

Is Moto Guzzi "DEAD" in Florida and America?

That is MZ. Stands for Motorradwerk Zschopau. The plant walk through was interesting. Finished bikes were stacked sideways on an open truck for delivery to local Communist dealers. No sure how many made it out of those Soviet markets. After President Reagan helped end the Soviet Union and...

Is Moto Guzzi "DEAD" in Florida and America?

Mine is like mint with lots of extras. Actually a long list of optional things will go with it. Imagine I could move it fast if I, "gave it away". Not really interested in that. Actually like the bike but left hand has me unable to control a clutch lever. The wife keeps saying I have too many...

Is Moto Guzzi "DEAD" in Florida and America?

Interesting thought about the fuel tank. I consistently get 55-60 mpg. Just using regular or occasionally mid octane fuel. Never noticed a "ping" or any sign of detonation. Bike runs strong. Now granted I am not a fast rider after initial testing. Yes, the bike goes over 100 mph easily...

Is Moto Guzzi "DEAD" in Florida and America?

Interesting. The former Moto Guzzi dealer in Tampa has MV Augusta. I have looked at some of their offerings there. Tiny sport bikes with confusing and cluttered design. Liked older ones but these overpriced midgets looked like a confused can of worms. I have owned multiple Moto Guzzi models...

Is Moto Guzzi "DEAD" in Florida and America?

Glad to read there are active dealers around. In Europe, Moto Guzzi is a common brand. Obviously being Italian makes it a "home" product. Yet, around here there seems to be far more Ducati, BMW and Royal Enfield interest away from the Harley and various Jap machines. Been an owner of multiple...

Is Moto Guzzi "DEAD" in Florida and America?

Curious as I looked at Florida and there are 5 listed dealers. Inventory at them range from some with just one in stock to just one listing showing 12. Most in stock seem to be V85's and really, they are either 2022 or used ones listed. My take there is the few listed dealers are dropping Moto...

    Hello from MN

Welcome to Moto Guzzi. They are a bit different than the mass of motorcycles. You bought into a European culture that has flourished for many decades. Read around, learn and you will better appreciate the brand and its' history.

Guzzi agreement signed to expand factory

English would be nice. I would not understand the title were it not translated here in English. Been to the factory but riding a BMW then. Not a big place. Did not get a tour but seem to remember a testing track that was just a teeny road running around that place. Of course leaving that town...

CANCELLED - GuzziTech Meet Up? Barber Motorsports Circuit & Museum, Alabama, 20th & 21st May.

Just don't mess around in the elevator. You could end up like the skeleton at the bottom??? The old National Motor Museum in England was darn good before the fire. The old one Barber Dairy had in Birmingham was good also. This new expansive complex at the track is spectacular. Best I ever...
