Thoughts on buying low mile 2008 Norge?

I've owned a beautiful RED 07 and was relatively happy with it. If I had to do over again I would buy the 8V as much was improved. 8V can be had for not much more than 2V Norge. IMHO The MG will be less expensive to maintain and fix then the BMW. Ask me how I know. LOL.

California Touring: engine heat while riding

Riding an air/oil cooled two engine is still like riding a hot stove with handlebars. No matter with my Victory, Harley or Norge. Only thing you can do is make sure fueling is richer rather than leaner side while idling and cruising mode.

Would you buy a EV1100 with 100,000 miles?

Thanks Todd. How do I check about the Cam update? Need I pull the valve covers? I know about the dual clutch plate the hydro is suppose to have and the triple tree lower crack to look for. Your right, he said the Speedo cable had been replaced at 60K.

Would you buy a EV1100 with 100,000 miles?

Found a 03 EV1100 Cali with factory saddlebags and fairing. Looks to be in good shape from the pics but close to 100,000 miles on it. Have not gone to look at it yet. Has been fit with Power Commander. 2nd owner purchased from original owner few years ago and has not ridden much. Had a 2V...

I fell of the couch laughing when I saw this ad and had to tell my HD buddy about it... So true. What a shot across the bough (sp) for the Posers.... LOL!!! Loved it.

    Norge vs FJR

Have put 20,000 miles and sold 05 FJR.... Very fast very reliable bike but did not talk to me like the 07 Norge does. 07 Norge with custom seat and taller windshield with risers. Much more elegant bike, easier to maintain and very composed on the freeway. Everything just works on...

    2012 norge handlebar risers

I have a set of 1.5 inch risers on my 07 Norge and no need to change lines. Made quite a difference....I sat on an 2012 Norge and feels about the same to me as with my risers on the 07. It's a less expensive way to go....

    Drilling the Norge OEM mufflers

Where did you put holes? Inside diameter between the chrome outer covering and muffler or directly inside? How many and what size holes? How did it make the sound differ? Thanks......

    Drilling the Norge OEM mufflers

Being an old HD guy we use to run a long drill bit up into the muffler a few times to free up the breathing a little and give it a better sound... Has anyone done this with their Norge or Breva and can talk about the outcome ?

    Norge Handling Question

I thought the very same thing until I got accustomed to the bike with a few more miles on the machine and changing to a fresh set of tires made everything so much better! I am the kind of rider who checks air pressure daily... Make that the new SHINKO 09 Ravens... Instantly loved the new tires..

    GPS/Radar mount for Norge handlebar?

This has worked well for me for 8500 miles so far.... It is a Garmin 2612 connected to the top windshield bracket with a short arm inside a locked bracket. I can read it while riding down the road without taking my eyes off the road.

Surprising amount of oil in Norge airbox

I have had zero oil in the drain hose since only filling with 3.0 quarts of oil when doing an oil and filter change - which brings it up to exactly halfway on the dip stick.. :D . Seems to be happier right there.

    Norge Body Work

I take the skirts off also but replace them carefully for hot summer riding to fend off the heat.. *Thankfully no cracks in the plastic so far..

To Techron or not to Techron?

I put the whole 8 OZ ST brand gas cleaner into my 07 Norge from Wally World hoping it would clean up some of the pinging I was having... It worked for the most part ! YMMV...:^)
