    45mm Stelvio NTX Fork Oil

Just seeing this and would add that if you've had no leaks you can replace like with like quantities, making them even. You can pump out all the old quite thoroughly into a quart or liter size measuring container, and then just put back what you took out. This avoids any taking things apart.

    Clutch Chatter

Glad you asked korskov. The only Guzzi dealer left in the entire PNW of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and so on, is one in Seattle that I can tell you from first hand experience is to be avoided at all costs. It is called Optimum Performance motorsports, and I took my former Aprilia there...

    Clutch Chatter

That was the expected response to that idea! The clutch on my 15 with 53K miles is all kinds of odd in how it bangs and grabs and shakes, but it never slips and always grips and I'll ride it that way until it dies.

    Slow start-Battery voltage?

Ok, got home from work and put my multimeter on the battery as I cranked her over and the battery dropped to 7-8 volts. No bueno. I'm ordering the Yuasa YTX 20 CH-BS based on recommendations. Thanks again for your insights. That darn Motobatts AGM didn't last three months. Piece of crap.

    Clutch Chatter

I read somewhere about a guy flushing his bell housing and clutch area with gasoline, that then drained out the bottom drain. He used gasoline because it evaporated quickly, but I have to wonder about degradation of seals and other parts with that approach. Anyone else heard of that sort of...

    Slow start-Battery voltage?

Thanks John, I never would have thought of that. I've got a good plan of attack for when I get home from work tonight. I'll report back if I find anything obvious.

    Slow start-Battery voltage?

    Good idea. Thanks.

    Slow start-Battery voltage?

So my Blue Beast has always started fine and I put a new battery in when I got her a few months ago. She charges right at 14.2 volts. The past couple days the bike has been very slow to start, with the battery barely able to turn over the crank. Last night I got home after riding home from work...

Throttle tube sluggish to return to idle

I did indeed get the adventure style, and don't make my mistake and trim them. They do not need to be trimmed as I mistakenly thought they needed to be flush with the bar ends but our bar weights have a good portion that sticks out from the end of the bar before there is a lip. Getting the old...

Throttle tube sluggish to return to idle

Update: After fine tuning the cable adjustment tension and after everything else I've done today, it is now snapping back just great with only the Heaterz grips on. Snaps back with that nice solid "clank" of the throttle bodies closing firmly. However, I've learned that when I put my cramp...

Throttle tube sluggish to return to idle

I wasn't adjusting idle with the cables, only making sure the pull cable was not too tight, which causes elevated idle. T'hat cable is just a hair slack at idle. And I thought the same thing about rubbing somewhere with the grips everything is fitted just fine. The throttle tube is flush with...

Throttle tube sluggish to return to idle

Been working on it all morning and now throw up my hands. I've spent the entire morning trying to eliminate friction in my throttle assembly and though it seems I have done so, when I put it all back together the throttle sticks and at best is sluggish to return to idle. Let me list what I have...

    Cutting new keys?

End of story here. Newly cut keys arrived a while back and they work fine. I found I only had to add the new keys and did not have to first change the user code from 00000. No problem. Sure is nice having three keys and not one! Thanks again for the tips and help.

    Cutting new keys?

Lucky for you in Bend. I'm not needing code help as my bike doesn't even have one entered yet. It's just key cutting, which for whatever reason no local locksmith can do.

    Cutting new keys?

I've gone ahead and decided to ship to AF1 and not screw around. I just hope to Buddha my one good key is not lost in shipping. Even though they recommend insuring it to $600, that will be of little help with loss of your one good key. Gulp.

    Cutting new keys?

So I got my two key blanks but have learned that none of my local locksmiths can cut this special inside groove Stelvio keys. I'd really rather not send them off to AF1, though that may be my nearest option. I've read that maybe a VW dealer can, but I don't want to throw away expensive blanks...

Thanks, Yes, I will definitely use the service code.

Will do, thanks. We use to live in Friday Harbor and still keep our boat there. Small world.

    Cutting new keys?

Ha! Sorry to hear you had a cluster #%&@! And I see you are nearby in Oregon. Bend? Anyway, I used to live in Corvallis and Portland. I've ordered Guzzi OEM keys off Amazon and so will plan on programming them myself. Still will have to find out how to do this like for the first time since the...

    Cutting new keys?

Thanks. I read that, but have read both my owner manual and repair manual and found nothing on how to enter the first code. Anyway, I think I will still wait until I get my new keys cut and I'm mainly wondering who can cut these keys. I'm thinking they cannot be so special. Tons of car keys use...
