    Factory map updates

The latest maps are: 2230BB10 for the ABS model and 2230BA10 for non ABS. I'm not sure changing the map will solve your problem best get the basics right first.

    B12S clutch squeaking noise

Mine does the same thing, also it will squeal when pulling away on a incline occasionally. I was told it was the thrust bearing in the clutch. The clutch works fine and to get at the problem will mean taking the engine out of the frame which I'm very reluctant to do.

    Throbbing (warped?) rotors.

They do appear to be either warped or have developed very small thin spots, even 0.02mm variation in thickness can cause problems,. The correct method is to check the thickness with a micrometer all round the disc and measure the run out with a dial test indicator clamped to the fork leg. Guzzi...

    Lambda Sensor Failure?

There was a case recently on the Wildguzzi forum of a Belgium guy who had a similar problem which was down to badly machined lambda threads in the exhaust . This caused damage to the sensors themselves when they were fitted at the factory. http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=63167.0 You...

Unlisted Breva 1100 ECU fault code 31???

If you go into the 'faults' screen in Guzzidiag it shold give you a description of the fault.

    latest map for 1200S ECU?

I just tested my 07 mapped Sport on the dyno. It puts out very slightly better figures than a Euro Breva 1200 with a 08 (latest) map - 74.44hp and 61.60ft/lbs. Obviously not the same bike but on paper same state of tune etc. So it looks like there is no need to rush out and change the Guzzi map...

    latest map for 1200S ECU?

As I've have stated it would be better to go to dealer than start uploading maps from ducatidiag. With the current Guzzi maps available it would be difficult to know exactly what you are getting anyway. At this stage it is at best a handy little tool for setting the TPS and for anyone who wants...

    latest map for 1200S ECU?

If you pay ducatidiag 100 euros you can upload a map from their map list. Tony's who has posted here is on there. Mind you I don't know if anyone with a Guzzi has done it yet and it would probably be cheaper to go to a dealer. It shouldn't take long to upgrade, 1/2 hour labour is plenty. The...

    latest map for 1200S ECU?

Just got around to reading this post so a bit of delay. I've got a 2007 built 1200 Sport using the 2230BD00 map which is I believe is the earlier one. I checked it using the ducatidiag/ECM editor software against the 2230BD01 which I guess is the later version. The only difference I can find is...

Tuning a Guzzi - my first adventure

I take it you used the ducatidiag uploading software to switch the lambda off, how did this go? With the lambda off and the bike set up correctly it will be interesting to know how the bike runs over a few miles. I have been thinking about doing it but for the 100 Euros for the uploader I wasn't...

Norge Fork Upgrade / Front Wheel Spacer

I had both exhaust header clamps and the rear wheel hugger come loose after my Breva's last service. I know you should be able to trust the professionals but always check the work yourself if possible. LIfe is short enough without someone else helping you along.

    Convince Me

Buying a new bike is harder than it used to be. New technology doesn't seemed to have reduced the problems and in fact as I have stated BMW have actually gone backwards in this area.Triumph are having their fair share of problems and these days and nothing seems cheap to fix. I repeat, the...

    Convince Me

I jumped off a BMW R1100s onto a Guzzi 1200 Breva with only 75bhp at the rear wheel but the engine was a lot nicer to use with none of the BM's vibration at high rpm. When in thrashing mode I'm happy to rev it towards the redline continously which I wouldn't do on the BM so in real world speeds...

    '07 B11 TPS Value?

Ducatidiag will reset the TPS to it's correct value (i.e 4.6 for the 1200 2v engines) you cannot alter the figure.

    8 adventure bike comparison test..

Positions all relative to advertising budgets. I bought a BMW R1100s in 2001 against all the press advice, best bike i'd had so bought another. My Breva 1200 is up there with anyting I have owned, does exactly what it's designed to do. 35 years riding bikes and a free thinking mentality go a...

Oh we use 10/40...check what they use!!

I agree oilhead beemers seem a lot less complicated in their requirements than the CARC Guzzis. My R1100S used 10/40 oil had no sensors scattered all over the place and used a manual throttle lifter 'choke' rather than the dreaded stepper motor. But that was 1990's technology and emmisions...

European Cover for Riders in Blighty

HSBC do a very good travel insurance which covers motorcycles. Beware of breakdown cover I've known of cases of them taking the bike to the local dealer they strip it then suddenly can't fix it and you eventually get a box of bits back. Unless it's a simple fix I want a main dealer on the case...
