Thanks Kevin. I do see movement on the rear brake caliper. The front calipers are solid however (or appear that way), but I'll certainly give them another look. I also prevent surprises by operating the front brake lever a little before a spirited turn entry, but I shouldn't have to. Thanks...
Thanks Kenrover. Pretty confident the fluid is free of water. It's crystal clear and came from a new container of DOT 4. Although I have pretty good brake bleeders (Phoenix Systems and MityVac), I may have the shop give it a try. Jim
Searched - didn't find anything related:
Anybody else experience this?: riding along just fine on the curvy roads, brakes fine (firm & consistent), after many miles, I brake for a turn and the lever moves ~1 inch further than normal, but still firm. Second application and it's back to normal...
Congratulations on your Stelvio. I bought one a couple years ago and absolutely love it. My pipes were coated with the champaign color, which I really like. The fuel mods all really made the bike ride and perform better. Help from this forum with all the knowledge and experience is...
Thanks John, appreciate your point of view. Having said that, does that mean owners of the new V100 Mandello with the new quickshifter feature should be concerned? Loaded question I know...
Is there a techical reason for your reply? I've been shifting this way my whole life and am skilled at unloading the gearbox for smooth shifts, which is essentially what the clutch would do. If I'm really accelerating hard and loading the gearbox, I'll use the clutch. I've never had a...
Thanks - I have no problem with 2 finger pull all day long on either brake or clutch. I don't even use the clutch after 3rd gear most of the time anyway for upshifting.
Has anyone mounted Puig levers on a Stelvio? Revzilla (in the US) lists Puig levers for a 2014 Stelvio 1200 NTX. My wife bought them for me for Christmas. When I searched for the clutch and brake lever mounts, they are "not available" - and I don't mean "out of stock". Puig website only...
I did this procedure today as part of 6200 mile maintenance on a 2014 Stelvio I bought last year. Instructions were very helpful. ECU box was easy to use. I used a pneumatic vacuum bank. Had to adjust the high speed balance slightly as well as the idle balance. Bike runs awesome. Thanks...
I didn't vote - need a selection for " new to the brand and here all the time". I've learned so much.
I echo the comments from others on how this site and effort of the contributors helped influence my purchase decision.
Todd, we haven't met but I sure hope at some point we do. Thank you...
Todd, thanks for posting this. Sorry for a stupid question but what does "Pump out oil a few times" mean? I've replaced oil in forks before but not sure what this is referring to. I use a motion pro fork oil level tool.
Thanks - great suggestions. Reached out to Jet Hot today and got a quote. Thinking either the Platinum or Champagne color coat, or maybe flat black I'll do the fuel mods once I sell my Multistrada: I need a Windows based laptop since I and my friends/family all have Apple products...
Little doubt that's it's me - my wife says I can't see something looking right at it! Having trouble finding where these screws get removed (the lighter head screws in the picture). As you suggested, I removed everything as an assembly.
For the vent line, clearly the PO made a mod that...
At 6ft 3in, I always struggled with windscreen turbulence (buffeting) on most of my bikes. The Stelvio I just bought is no exception. Tried both my Schueberth C3 Pro and an Aria full face. Both would buzz my head on any windsceen position. The PO was kind enough to include a shorty...
Performed this procedure today on a bike a bought a couple weeks ago. Very helpful guide! Just a couple comments: There were three sets of 2 screws to remove the fairing/light assembly. 2 additional to the instructions bolting the fairing to the frame from underneath + the two behind the...
Hi all! New Moto Guzzi owner here. Picked up a 2014 Stelvio NTX over the weekend. Been riding for decades. Always admired the Moto Guzzi brand and its products. Coming off a Ducati Multistrada which I used for track days, commutes, and distance rides. Ready to give up 160 manic HP for...
