Exhaust sound gets quiet on the way. Valves too tight?

After this happened to my other bike, w800, it proved that the small hill climb is the reason. Interestingly, the other street sounds appeared ok through the full face helmet, no sign of pressure change deafness, which is usually noticeable on all the sound picture. Good thing is - bike okay...

Lighten clutch handle pull on 1200 Sport 2V?

:) Thanks John! that's cool! rock climbing would help here too, but I'm too fat and old to start. The trick is - our local traffic habbits allow pulling between the lanes in a jam, but the cage drivers like to park in a jam in a check-manner, closing the gaps. This means sometimes 10-15 full...

Lighten clutch handle pull on 1200 Sport 2V?

Guys, what's the easiest way to decrease pulling force required on a clutch lever on a 12S 2V? Any successful experience? Standard clutch operation force is annoying in a heavy traffic. Thanks a lot! Alex

Cheap footpeg option Sport 1200. :)

Had a problem of slippery original foot pegs too. First aid = file 2-3 scratches on the outer top surface of the peg with triangular file, in a way that you create about 90 or more degree burr perpendicular to yout foot sliding direction. 0,5-1mm deep is enough to prevent sliding. Later switched...

Exhaust sound gets quiet on the way. Valves too tight?

Thanks Todd! I'm a happy owner of the O2 tuning box of yours, runs much cooler sinse than, reacher than stock, and so much smoother. Only the silencer is non-stock, and snorkeloctomy with stock air filter. Does not seem to be overlean. Will look at spark plugs state and come back to your offer.

Exhaust sound gets quiet on the way. Valves too tight?

1200 sport 2V with Mistral silencer. In the middle of the road, suddenly, the exhaust sound almost disappears, gets very silent. The ride feels smooth. Usually happens on hot days, irregularly. Can it be because of too tight valve clearance and exhaust valves not closing properly, so...

    Spark wires/caps

Having broken one of internal spark wire caps and replaced temporarily the whole wire with the one freshly plucked from the nearby standing car, there is a number of questions araised. Remembering the bold written part of Guzziology, about spark wires and the importance of impendance and copper...

    Advise on critical maintenance needed

Found the needed info. The cartridge rod is fixed to the top fork cap, but rotates freely together with the cap and the compression/rebound adjustment mechanizm. So, ad described here - one simply unscrews the top cap as described in the Breva 11 / 12S manual, setting the adjustment screws to a...

    Advise on critical maintenance needed

Thanks, Todd! If i discover more details - will post here. There are people around looking for same answers, but no definite parts-based infos to be found so far.

    Advise on critical maintenance needed

What made me curious here, to bother you with such a question, is: there must be a connection from screws for setiing rebound/compression damping to the cartridge. The screws sit in the cap. Simple cap dismount, without prior disconnection of the above mentioned connection should be likely to...

    Advise on critical maintenance needed

Thanks, Todd. Better dismount. But still the question is: how to change oil on this cartridge fork with minimum required disassembling. simple opening the top cap - unclear how to handle the compression/rebound setting screws...

    Advise on critical maintenance needed

Is there a way to make a "soft" fork oil change, draining oil while leaving the fork mounted? If not a clever idea, than another question: the service manuals for 12S show fork oil change procedure, but seems to be another fork. Pictures are not showing the top-placed compression/rebound setting...

    Advise on critical maintenance needed

Guys, not having a trustful dealer around, I'm servicing my 12S on my own so far. Having the Guzziology and this forum, still have a mess in my head on a proper amount of maintenance. What works would you recommend to perform as a must please? Bike is a 2008 1200 Sport 2V 20 000 km Regular...

putting 75W bulb into low beam headlight 12S ?

might be an issue. too soon for me to tell if it is one. but thanks for the hint - I have to buy a spare headlight unit for the future, cause I hope the bike will be a keeper for me for many-many years.

putting 75W bulb into low beam headlight 12S ?

small report: I did put the bulb described above, replacing my low beam. GREAT! no excessive heat, wires ok, headlamp unit ok, nothing melted. used it for 2000+ km, also in outside temps over +30 celsius. might be a bit noticeable weaker battery charging, but could be also a dead battery...
