    New model NTX cam failure

I have UK 1200 8v abs with 32 tank (2011 model). When I changed my Griso, which had the cam/follower problem, the Piaggio Rep was at the Dealership. He told me that the supplier had been changed and there had been no failures of 2011 model (big tank) bikes. The MG Club Survey was completed in...

    TomTom Lead Stelvio 1200 8V (2011)

ChuckH Yes my Stelvio has the 32l tank. The wiring with a TomTom plug is all there under the L/H side panel. The power feed is switched, it won't charge the unit when ignition off but the unit doesn't power down. Hope this helps, Nigel.

    TomTom Lead Stelvio 1200 8V (2011)

Finally sorted out the lead to connect with my TomTom Rider 2. I could see the TomTom connection under the side panel on the left but looked difficult to get to. In fact it is a 10 min job. To get the left hand side panel off remove 2 allen headed bolts: one under side panel at the side, one...

    Pannier Clips

Stromcat My left hand pannier is the same. As a temp measure I have squared off a wine bottle cork and pushed in to the pannier bracket by the seat to prevent any rearward movement. Don't know whether this is necessary but does give piece of mind. Due to the comments have now covered it with...

    Stelvio Exhaust

Thanks guys, WD40 has done a pretty good job. I will try and find some non acidic wheel cleaner for the remaining faint stains. Don't want to spend too much time cleaning, rather be riding!

    Stelvio Exhaust

Thanks guys. I bought my Stelvio with just 1400m on the clock, 5 months old. The down pipes were already looking really bad but have sort of got used to them. Perhaps ceramic coating is the way to go or could the matt finish be removed by polishing them up. It was the exhaust (silencer box) that...

    Stelvio Exhaust

Hi, the standard exhaust has a matt aluminium/steel finish. What is the best way of getting the baked on crap off? Previous bikes had polished s steel finish so solvol and steel wool worked but worried this will destroy matt finish. Thanks, Nigel.

    Tom Tom Lead

Hi, only had my new (to me) Stelvio a few weeks. It is a 2011 8v abs model. Looking under the side fairing on the left I can see a Tom Tom 12v connection. How do I remove the bodywork to get to it? I have, as a temp lash up put my ball mount for the sat nav cradle behind the screen inboard of...

    Stelvio Tank Bag

Hi Doug You might want to have a look at the Famsa tank bag for the Stelvio. Mine was delivered yesterday. Fits like a glove and doesn't foul the bars on full lock. It is a quality item and is cheaper than the Guzzi bag. Have a look on the Winding Roads website. Only had my Stelvio a few weeks...

European Cover for Riders in Blighty

Ray Don't forget to read the small print. Took out a policy through MAG (Motorcycle Action Group) a few years back and unbelievably it excluded accident cover if you were on a motorcycle!! Cancelled it pretty sharpish. Now get cover included with my Bank account as long as I am wearing...

    GMG 2011

Fantastic time in Mandello. The rain on Sunday meant the Classic Parade was off so didn't get to see and hear the Otto Cylindri. Still there is always next time. Here is a taster: jO7Kh8YzazY Enjoy, Nigel. :D

    Oil Leak

Caspar, the Leak that Phang referred to was mine. Basically the pipe to the oil cooler was only hand tightened at the factory. Be interesting to see if yours was the same or from the problem that Pete raised. Regards, Nigel.

Gel seat insert & or Airhawk

Ian, As has been said don't be tempted to put too much air in it, I did at first and hated it. The secret is to have as little in as possible. Depending on the contour of your seat you may want to experiment with the fore/aft position of your airhawk. Just been to Dijon for Coupes Moto Legend...

    Griso Service Stand

Just bought the MG stand second hand without any fitting instructions. From pics that I have seen the bobbins bolt on under the foot pegs. There is another possible mounting place just behind the pegs too. Can anyone confirm that the bobbins attach under the pegs on the 8v? Thanks.

    GPS connection

Knowing about the connection is useful stuff. What is the best way of mounting the sat nav? The opening screen on my Tomtom shows a Griso with the unit in the middle of the bars. Is it just clamped onto the bars or is there a Griso specific gizmo? Thanks.
