    Blown Fuse on 04 Breva

Thanks John, I'll try to look it over closer tonight... The bike has always been garaged, and only has 7500 miles on it, sure didn't expect an issue like this on it... I seem to be a magnet for electrical problems with Guzzi's....still need to get the Jackal set up correctly too...Don't guess...

My 2004 Breva 750 blew a fuse last week, killed all the lights and gauge cluster...the fuse was semi melted...stuck a new fuse in and road home....this morning hopped on it to ride it to work, and again, no lights.....so hopped on the NX250 and rode to work.....any ideal where to start looking...

    Jackal fuel economy

Just an update, Road down to the European Rider Rally in Burkesville, KY last Saturday, and I'm definitely getting better mileage since adjusting the TPS, and Syncing the Throttle bodies... I'm still getting some slight popping back at lower RPM's, I guess the Air screws need some tweeking, so...

    Jackal fuel economy

Thanks Todd, and John I think I'm on the road to getting it sorted now...

    Jackal fuel economy

Thanks for the reply's.... If I had a meter that was accurate enough I'd adjust it, but mine doesn't seem to do the trick. As for how's it run...I've adjusted it "By Ear" so that it no longer pops, or backfires right off idle, and runs well over all, sometimes the idle doesn't drop down all the...

    Jackal fuel economy

Since I replaced my voltage regulator, and TPS and ECU (ECU & TPS due to overcharging) my Jackal gets only about 23 MPG, and used to get 45-50mpg... Can the TPS not being correctly adjusted cause that? Or should I be looking for something else? Any thoughts appreciated....

    Jackal ECU Question

    Jackal ECU Question

I need a new ECU for my Jackal, what other Guzzi's ECU will work? I've been told a V11 Sport will work, are there others? Would like to get it back on the road, already made me miss the KY Rally this year... Thanks

    2000 Jackal, won't idel

Got the regulator unhooked...(not sure I can get it hooked back up...).still shorting out....I'm pretty disgusted with it at this point, and not sure what to try next.

    2000 Jackal, won't idel

Was busy over the weekend and didn't get to work on it...did take a quick look, and it looks like the regulator is going to be pretty difficult to disconnect, why wouldn't they just put a connector there? Will I have to drop the coils to un-hook the regulator?
  14. Huck369

    2000 Jackal, won't idel

It was the wire that supply's the power to the ignition switch, which supplies most everything, so it didn't really narrow it down....basically nothing had power with it disconnected. It has to be something that can cause a dead short, I've ruled out: The Starter The Fuel Pump And pretty sure...

    2000 Jackal, won't idel

I've stepped back form this for a while, as I'm disgusted with it, I can't find anything wrong with it, can't find the source of the short... Anyone have any more ideals.....caused me to miss the KY Rally already this year......

    2000 Jackal, won't idel

Well, installed another used ECU last week, blew it too, but did run for a bit with it. now it's back to blowing the ECU fuse as soon as the key is turned to "On" Found that is I unhook one of the 3 wires going to the positive side of the battery, it doesn't blow the fuse, I haven't traced it...

    2000 Jackal, won't idel

Looking like I need a new ECU... Thanks for the help John (and everyone else) I'm pretty swamped with bills right now, so unless I find a good deal on a used ECU, the Jackal will probably be setting for a while...

    2000 Jackal, won't idel

PM me your number, and I might take you up on it, when I'm working on it... Did find out the fuse that was blown was to the ECU...what would cause that, surely not adjusting the TPS.... The fuse was a 15 amp (actually all of the fuses were 15 amp) but the manual says it should have been a 5 amp...

    2000 Jackal, won't idel

Thanks for the help guys... Well, I installed the new plugs (and you were right, it didn't really help)... I got the reading with a multi-meter, said in a owners manual to set the TPS at 15 (.15).. So since it was running worse, I loosed the TPS screws and started it and set it by ear this...

    2000 Jackal, won't idel

Had some time to work on it last weekend...adjusted the TPS (was 09, now set at 15) still won't idle, and now is running worse, backfiring some...and it seems to be fouling the plugs....Going to get some new plugs and see if that helps.
