    Gutsi or Guzzi?

Well, I doubt you can teach old Harley riders new tricks anyway. ;) I've always found it fascinating how colloquialisms, scientific and technical terms, jargon and word pronunciations take hold and are spread around, but maybe I'm just a nerd. :geek: A really interesting example is how...

    Gutsi or Guzzi?

Tamaytoe, Tamahtoe - no telling how words are going to be pronounced once they enter the English lexicon. Chevrolet and pizza made it in relatively unscathed. Jury is still out on Guzzi, and nobody calls a Volkswagen a Folksvagen (unless they're German). Since almost nobody has heard of a...

    An Oil Thread!

Here's my 2 lira - Peanut oil can take the highest heat - good for turkey frying. Canola oil is best for you Omega-3 & 6 wise, but has a certain taste to it, especially if it has been around a while. Olive oil is great for mediterranian dishes - good for you, but lots of taste to it. For just...

    V7 Classic Recall Notice

The recall is to replace a 'check valve' on the U.S. evap system that keeps the plastic fuel tank from under or over pressurization. Unfortunately, tanks are also deforming due to other causes and this fix will not do anything about that.

    Wrapped Exhausts

The downside I've heard is that water can get in (assuming you leave your bike out in the rain - or you wash it) and can cause corrosion. If you do it, the recommended way is to wrap from the back to the front, so the wrap overlaps sort of like shingles on a roof and water will tend to run off...

    V7 Questions...

The real question now is it possible to get the V7 Café since there are probably no new ones left. If you find one, you will have to get the flat seat from the Classic and a set of rear pegs. This is a smallish, low HP bike, but two people can get on. I guess next year they will have the V7...

    V7 Classic vs. deer

Deer really scare me - takes all the fun out of riding certain areas and times of day. If you see one, you can bet there's more. By the way, what are you using as a gas tank? I've already had a plastic one replaced due to warping and anticipate a switch to metal sometime in the future...

    V7 Cafe Racer Fairing

Really nice...great look for the bike! I noticed you have the same Rizoma mirrors I use. Did you ream out the mirror stalks, or did you have the bar end weights turned? By the way, you can undo the clamps where the old mirrors attached and reverse it so the hole points down. Much cleaner...

V7C - Fuel tank pressure normal?

Did your bike come with the evap canister located behind the engine oil sump (like U.S. bikes)? If so, you will have two vent hoses under your gas tank; one for fuel overflow and one that leads to the evap canister. The fuel overflow hose has nothing to do with tank overpressurization, but you...

CRACKED: V7 Café Classic Paint Code

Using all of my super Spidey senses, including deductive skills worthy of Sherlock Holmes' smarter older brother, I present to the Moto Guzzi community the paint code for the weird greenish gold color found on the V7 Café known alternately as "Legnano Green" or "Solaris Yellow": (drum roll...

    rearsets for v7 classic/cafe

Corsa Italiana has it on their web site, but it will cost you an arm, leg and your firstborn. Roughly converted from GBP = about $1500 US. Word is that US dealers will not have access to the parts, even though they are going to sell a limited edition V7 Racer here. :cry...

    Guzzi = Exotica

I think part of it may be because Moto Guzzis are rare and no other motorcycle really has the Moto Guzzi "look". I remember seeing my first Guzzi when I was probably only 8 or 9 years old. This was back when most kids like me checked out every airplane and motorcycle that went by with a certain...

    V7 Classic to Cafe Conversion

I can tell you the muffler bracket for the Cafe is actually also designed for a passenger peg. Mine came with rubber plugs the holes where they would go. I think Guzzi thought that those who wanted to carry a passenger on their Cafe would buy the peg parts along with a Classic seat and do the...

    Wot? no Cafe in 2011?

Let's face it, the Cafe is just a Classic with a different paint job, mufflers, seat, and clip-ons instead of a handle bar. It was a way for Piaggio to sell more V7Cs without a lot of investment. Now they are doing a Clubman version, and that will most likely be a "limited edition" too, but...

    Blither about V7 racer.

I just got an email from my dealer and the V7 Cafe Classic will be a 2010 model only, which also makes it a limited edition. I could have guessed this - I am working on getting the paint code for the "Solaris Green" as my tank had to be touched up due to the horn on the passenger side being...

    Breva vs Deer not good

Deer scare the beejezus out of me  - what time of day was it? I noticed a while back someone parting out an entire Breva on ebay - still might be some stuff there you can use. Get better...or get luckier!

    V7Classic oil level check

Unless I've missed something, my understanding is that the sump spacer does not lower the oil pump pick-up any - so you can still starve your engine with plenty left in the sump. The sump spacer may deepen the oil level and give you more oil volume, but it won't do you much good if it doesn't...

    V7Classic oil level check

My dipstick is like yours as well - no upper hash mark even though the picture in the owners manual clearly shows one. I think I read the reason for checking the oil with the engine warmed up is that the oil 'expands' when hot and thus raises the level. I'm with you in thinking this would be...

V7 Registry & Picture thread -- ADD YOUR BIKE

Re: Small block picture thread My V7 Cafe. Rizoma "Reverse Retro" bar end mirrors and National Cycle flyscreen. Both of these items required mods to fit properly - thank God for Harbor Freight and 7th grade shop class!

    New V7 Racer

The heads look different than on the V7C. Can anyone identify them? Just cosmetic or is there hope for the long-awaited HP boost?
