V7 OEM crash bar vibration issue

I can confirm that the OEM engine guards do indeed protect the heads on a V7 Stone on a fall. My wife's bike went down after she hit a patch of leftover winter sand on the asphalt yesterday. Because she was wearing full gear, she just bruised her knee, but nothing that stopped her from riding...

    How Waterproof are Grisos Cluster?

Two of us just finished a >3,000 km ride through Quebec and the Gaspe peninsula. He was on a 2012 G12 and I was on a 2007 G11. It poured for hours most days. Happy to say that neither bike had any water issues (although our gear did not hold up so well). Neither experienced condensation...

    Valve cover oil leak

I had the same problem on my '07 1100. Right side cover leaked. I could get about 6,000 km on a gasket, at most. Left side never leaked. Finally replaced both with silicone gaskets and haven't had a problem since. The silicone ones were about $20 a pair from realgaskets.com, so not much more...

    New V7 owner

Welcome - I'm sure you'll enjoy it! My wife has a '13 V7 Stone and loves it. I have an '07 Griso. If you haven't already, check out ontarioguzziriders.com. There is an annual rally up in Lavigne (not to be missed, since it's held in a tavern!) and occasional breakfasts (one last year was just...

    rear paddock stand

i bought a Pitbull stand for my wife's V7 Stone. Here is the link: http://www.pit-bull.com/mm5/merchant.mv ... ear_stands It says it's for a V7 Racer, but works fine with the Stone. Eric

    Considering a Griso

Lots of questions, a few answers: I have done some touring (about 2,400 km last week). I have an 1100, so most things will be the same or similar. I'm also 6'2". I have the large tank bag and panniers (OEM). I have the tail rack installed, and carry a tent on the rear seat and sleeping bag on...

    How do I do this?

Tough to tell from the photos, but it's also possible it is rim tape that has been applied to the spokes. Eric

    Accessory sockets on a Griso

I have a powerlet socket. It one that clamps to the handlebar (I have it dead centre) and it also has a RAM ball on it to attach the GPS when used. I don't recall the part #, but you can probably find it on the Powerlet site. I have it wired directly to the battery (routed under the right...

Was that a fuel icon on my LCD ?

No, it's there. I've always just ignored it though. I believe it's counting the distance from when the fuel light went on, since I think there is a km readout beside it when it comes on. Again, this is just my impression, since I've never relied on or looked at it, and just headed for the...

    speed bleed

I've installed them on an ABS-equipped BMW and on my Griso 1100, with no problems They are metric, so no need for new wrenches. They work well, making the bleeding process (brake lines or hydraulic clutch line) a simple one person job, as advertised.

    Clutch adjust

You may need to just bleed and flush the hydraulic clutch line. It's possible your fluid in the line is contaminated or low, or both. If it's low, some air may have gotten into the line. You should also check the bleeder valve (under the seat at the left) to make sure it's tight, and not...

Ear plugs and blue tooth devices....

My Nolan has a skirt similar to the Schuberth, but I find it too hot with the chin shield in place. My earplugs just clean up with soap and water, no need to sterlize them. They are made of silicone, so they're pretty durable. I bought them at the Toronto motorcycle show (local company that...

    Griso part number

I have a new, unused dash for my 07 Griso 1100 still in the Guzzi wrapper. I'll check the part number that's on it this evening and let you know what it says. If you are interested, I can sell it you. I had problems with my dash's LCD display, but they were caused by a bad speedo sensor...

Ear plugs and blue tooth devices....

I have similar ear problems, having had many ear infections and burst ear drums. I have custom ear plugs (molded in the ear) which are supposedly are better than the over-the-counter foam ones. At least they are a lot more comfortable. I can't ride more than 20km without them or I regret it...

    griso dash error code

Also check that your battery lead connectors are not cracked. With the bend in them, if someone has used the connectors to pull the battery out of the battery box, they may crack at the bend creating a poor connection. Mine were both replaced when I bought my bike because I had intermittent...

ENI 10W60 oil in Southern Ontario

Another source for Motul 10W60 (7100 full synthetic) is Flying Squirrel Motorcyle (fsmotorcycle.com) on Carlaw near Gerrard. Glen says sells a 4L jug for $50 +HST. He needs a couple of days to get it in since he doesn't normally stock it.

    OEM Stelvio NTX Heated Grips

Not sure if these will work for you. I've been looking at putting heated grips on my Griso and ran across these at CAD$50 and sold in Canada.: http://www.motorcycleinnovations.ca/Hotgrips_7_8_inch_heated_grips_p/hotgrips.htm

ENI 10W60 oil in Southern Ontario

My local dealer (Corsa Meccanica) has it, to confirm your assumption. I think I paid about $25 a liter, but that's based on my poor memory. I'd have to check the invoice. They are just 10 minutes away and I'd rather support my local MG dealer, and I couldn't imagine a BMW dealer would be...

    Griso Evap Can removal

Re: Griso Charcoal can removal Thanks, I figured I'd have to route a hose from the breather to below the bike, but was hoping otherwise. Fortunately I have lots of leftover hose and clamps now. Removing the tank to find where to attach it looks pretty straightforward. Who knows, I may find...

    Griso Evap Can removal

Re: Griso Charcoal can removal Well, I finally got around to removing my charcoal canister from my 2007 G11 (it was raining and I was bored). Turns out, it had never been installed properly anyway so wasn't fuctional (probably why it never gave me any trouble). The hose connecting the tank to...
