    Cross Reference - Phase Sensor

Hi, I haven't posted on here for a while, if at all I am trying to compose a cross reference for the Magneti Marrelli SEN813 phase sensor used on the Guzzis It seems to me if this fails on a trip you are dead in the water. I tried in vain to find one in Vancouver but without a car specific part...

    V1200 Starter Woes

The starter solenoid will pull 50 Amps if it gets a good supply, but only for a fraction of a second. There's far too much resistance in the wiring to and from the ignition switch, let alone the switch it self. There is no reason at all not to power the relay direct from the battery.

    V11 ground vs battery tender

You should check the ground ASAP, if it's loose you run the chance of serious loom damage if not a fire. http://s1304.photobucket.com/user/Kiwi_ ... ic%20Smoke The first picture sent me from a V11 Sport owner shows how the regulator ground wire shed it's insulation while starting. The next two...

    Cam sensor on 98 EV

Thanks for the feedback, I have a 98 EV also. You should be able to measure the sensor resistance while you wiggle the wire and locate where the break is. pin 7 and 12 of the ECU connector http://www.thisoldtractor.com/guzzi007/ ... 998_EV.gif I'll send you a PM Roy

    02 v11 sport naked

The cap you see is the bar end weight, it attaches with a split part with a tapered plug, If you loosen the allen screw a couple of turns then tap on the end I think it will drive the tapered plug back to release the grip.

    V11 ground vs battery tender

Behind the seat lock is a silly place to connect the main ground (I must admit mine is still there) Sluggish cranking is one symptom of a bad ground, the next symptom is magic smoke emitting from the loom under the tank as the starter current finds it's way back to the battery via the small...

    Lightning problem

I suspect you have no power on Fuse 6 & 7, check with the key on. These two fuses are powered from a separate contact of the ignition switch. http://guzzitech.com/phocadownload/wiri ... _sport.gif The grease inside the ignition switch (item (39)) goes hard with age sometimes hard enough to...

    NTX 650...electronic ignition ?

I know zilch about the NTX ignition system but on scanning the schematic I see a separate module for each cylinder with just one common pickup. I would assume if the bike fails to run at all, look to the pickup but if just one side fails look to the electronic module or coil for the side thats...

    Modern "No Start" issue solution

Brian UK, I'm sure you are correct about the 2 coils, but I suspect Guzzi don't know about it otherwise why not show it on their schematics, I have only seen it on a couple of non Guzzi drawings. The huge inrush current has been the cause of much misery for Guzzi owners...

    Introduction

Sorry, I forgot about this site, just found my way back The large object is the Pelton wheel from nearby power station, Lillooet British Columbia. I have since added a 84 California II, a 98 V11 EV and a 72 Eldorado to the collection.

    V11 ground vs battery tender

I don't think you did anything wrong by having the tender hooked up, it must have been something else caused the melt down. Here's a couple of scenarios If the main battery ground is not connected properly the starter current (or any other current for that matter) finds it's way back through...

    Modern "No Start" issue solution

I signed up here ages ago but haven't been back The starter solenoid draws about 40 Amps for a split second, it only takes a slight resistance to prevent that. The fixes listed above are well worth doing Here's a simple schematic of the Valeo starter circuit trying to explain why it's important...
