    Noisy Griso

So in case anyone is interested, it is now nearly 18 months since I had the roller conversion. And there have been no problems so far - the longest period without replacing the cams I've had! I'm almost starting to trust it. I do sometimes get a loud rattle on start up - sounds like there's no...

2nd CAM and TAPPET recall !!!

My 08 Griso has just had its fourth set of cams and followers installed at 22k miles. It now has roller followers installed, and I have my fingers crossed. Piaggio have said that they will continue to support the bike - in terms of cam gear- for a "reasonable period". I use my Griso daily in...

    Noisy Griso

Hi Fredly. My thoughts are that you have found your problem. On my last failure, it was onlly the r/h exhaust lobe and follower that had visible damage. The lobe looked scored, and the follower had lost a little metal. The noise was incredible. I feel rather unconfortable about the whole...

Current options for narrower bars (shorter rider as well)

Re: Current options for narrower bars (shorter rider as well I'm looking for bars too. But my requirements are different. I want narrower and lower, giving a more aggressive riding position. I was thinking just completely straight. Anything like that available.

Problems with Termignoni pipe on Griso

OK, so the Guzzi tech department say that the valve problem isnt connected to the cooked cats.Hmmm. The bike is fitted with NGK plug caps. The good news is that Custmer Service have decided to give me a new Termignoni as compensation for the cam problems. Any thoughts about how long this one...

Hi Fredly. Have youhaed a listen to the heads with a screwdriver? On mine, the source of the noise was very clear indeed with a srewdriver stethascope. I also get some clutch and transmission noise, but it has always done it, and it's a lot quieter with the clutch pulled in. It's not a massive...

Problems with Termignoni pipe on Griso

I've just had roller cam followers fitted after my fourth cam failure- this time it was the exhaust in the rhs. Could this be connected to cooked cats?

    Noisy Griso

Well the saga of my Griso has continued. The right hand exhaust cam failed again back in February, so the third set of cam gear lasted just over a year. Guzzi have taken responsibility for it again, and I have just got it back, this time fitted with roller tappets. Customer service say that...

Problems with Termignoni pipe on Griso

Any more thoughts on what is causing this? I have taken the Termignoni off and put the original pipe back on. I know some folk like them, but I think it hit every branch of the ugly tree when it fell out. Looking at the Termignoni, the pproblem is definitely with the cat. It looks like it has...

Problems with Termignoni pipe on Griso

Hi all I bought my Griso new in 08 with a Termignoni fitted. After about 18 months the bike started not wanting to rev past 6k. Investigations revealed the pipe was to blame. Looking into the inlet end, you could see what looked like a tennis ball - with no holes for the gas to go through. Is...

    Intermittent squeak

My Griso has developed a squeak. I thought it might be a wheel bearing, but now I ahve heard it while stationary. It only seems to happen with the bike in gear, and with the clutch disengaged. As the clutch is engaged, it disappears. Any thoughts?

Well its still going! Just about ready for a 18000 mile service. This is the longest I've had out of a set of cams, so fingers crossed.

    No-start/battery warning

I've just fitted a Motobatt after the original died. Seems to be coping well with winter starting and constant use of heated grips. The dash is showing about 12.6v in the mornings, rising to between 13.7 and 14.2 when running - is that reasonable?

Anyone have any thoughts? I am getting a ticking sound on the left hand side only - but only when the engine is hot.

    Noisy Griso

Well, I've managed 500 miles of mostly urban riding and all seems well. So far. What I do have now is a slight rattle. I think it may be the "cyclic rattle" that Pete has described. It's quite a high-pitched tinny noise that goes "clickety clickety ting.............clickety clickety...
