    Power Commander Maps

Thank you for your kind lecture- not sure where that came from! Well actually yes we do have dynos- and I have some dyno tuned maps to my other bikes which I am happy to share. But can't see the harm in trying different maps at home. What is the problem?

    Power Commander Maps

I have recently fitted a PC111USB to my Quota 1100ES. There is not a massive choice of maps- does anyone know where I can get a good map for a bike with a K & N air filter and very free breathing exhaust? Many thanks Guy

If your reg / rectifier has failed it may have fried the battery too- worth checking.

Faulty Power Commander 111USB- can it be repaired?

Thanks Todd! I will give Dynojet a call. To be fair it was some of the worse rain I have experienced since I started riding 23 years ago and I may as well have thrown the bike in the sea it was so wet. Thanks again Guy

Faulty Power Commander 111USB- can it be repaired?

I have been running a PC111USB on my Guzzi Jackal cafe racer and she has been running superbly ever since I got a custom map made up in Dynobike in Malton. Last weekend I was riding down from Huddersfield to Hampshire in torrental rain showers when my bike suddenly cut out in Salisbury, and to...

A Tour Of The Stucchi Factory

When we were recently in Mandello we decided to pop into Stucchi while walking down the hill into town from Al Verdes. Louis from Stucchi very kindly offered to give us an impromptu tour, and we enjoyed a half an hour inspection of their factory. They have invested a lot of money in their...

    Power Commander Compatibility

Strangely enough the Jackal ran pretty well with the custom V11 Rosso Corsa map on the 80 mile trip to the dyno shop! Then had a custom map made up for the Jackal- end result was a nice smooth curve and she spins up nicely on overtakes. Here is a brief video of one of the final runs- crank...

    V11 Performance Mods...thoughts?

Stucchi x over, Mistral pipes, K and N pod filters- and yes she felt pretty good!

    V11 Performance Mods...thoughts?

I've dug out my old dyno chart from 2006 showing the before FBF pistons and after comparison. You can see the gains between 2500 and 6500 revs in both power and torque, dont believe the FBF hype about 100bhp and all that- total bollocks but you do get a fat midrange boost just where it feels good.

    V11 Performance Mods...thoughts?

Unless you have a huge wad of cash to blow, suspension may be the best starting point. I have fitted an Ohlins rear shock to my wife's V11 Sport, and had the forks converted by Maxton where they basically throw away all the standard items and rebuild with their own internals and new adjusters...

What's the benefit of pod filters?

I think the pods lose maybe 1 or 2 bhp in the midrange compared to a lidless airbox with a K & N filter but who cares? They look great, you can ditch the huge plastic airbox and side panels, and the suspension is easier to adjust. And as mentioned by IBA, they sound great!

    Guzzi Revolution

I think the reality is we will not see anything too new or exciting from Piaggio. Yeah many of us would love a Guzzi sports bike but it aint gonna happen. A revamped small block range? Would be nice but aint gonna happen. Too many bikes in the Aprilia range that fufill these niches anyway, so...

    Limp home mode

I agree there is no need to get paranoid about these things without good reason, but its a damned good idea to be kept up to date with whatever the Eurocrats are planning to compel us to do. We need people like MAG / BMF to help lobby those who make the decisions, and try to make sure we dont...

    V7 Racer

Figure on closer to 40bhp at the back wheel but if you are happy with that then its not a problem. I do think that nearly £8k is a lot of money for one of these, considering you can buy a nearly new V7 Classic for £4k.

    UK owner headlights.

I bought one of the very first Stelvios off the production line and my dealer Moto Strada told me that the headlights were the same whether they were designed for RHD or LHD markets, but were adjustable. I've sold it so cant have a look but maybe they can be adjusted- which dealer are you using?

    Power Commander Compatibility

Todd has kindly confirmed that the answer is yes, provided I get a new custom map.
