Went to Newcomb's and Guzzi Rally broke out

Wife's birthday today so she took the day off and we played golf. Thursday or Friday sounds good.

Went to Newcomb's and Guzzi Rally broke out

Well, I know you didn't see me 'cause I've been on jury duty for the past week and a half. But I finished yesterday and rode my CalVin today with a bunch of friends and there was no Guzzi rally in sight unless you want to consider one Guzzi a rally. The rest of them were all on Ducatis.

    MV Agusta

I'm with you on the 800 Brutale. I love my Triumph Street Triple R, but when it's time to replace it I'm pretty sure it'll be a Brutale.

    The cringeworthy "Goozy"

Truly Franco (and Ghezzi), I really did see the humor and, as you say, was also "taking the piss".

    The cringeworthy "Goozy"

Sorry, but I was unable to cast a vote on this poll because it doesn't have a "don't give a shit" option. Happy to discuss motorcycles with anyone who is interested.

    LeMans Mark 1 value

One other thing to look at is the title. Agreeing with John's post above, that broken steering stop is a serious enough issue that insurance companies generally total the bike when that happens, so make sure the title is clean and not salvage. If it is salvage or rebuilt, the price should...

    LeMans Mark 1 value

Depends on the condition and mileage, but I would guess that a reasonably nice one should bring in the range of 12k.

Indie Guzzi Shops-Fader & MG Classics

Thanks Todd, but can't I get the bolt out by removing the wheel? If I have to remove the forks, then this job just exceeded my ability.

Indie Guzzi Shops-Fader & MG Classics

No, it didn't pour, but it wept enough, albeit slowly, that I'm concerned about riding it. If I could get hold of that page of the service manual I wouldn't mind trying to fix it myself, as I think I have everything that'd be required to do so.

Indie Guzzi Shops-Fader & MG Classics

Problem is, Bob, I have a leak in the right-side fork, and pretty sure it's the crush washer. I bought new washers and bolts for both sides (yikes $23 from PI), but don't really want to ride it too far with barely if any oil in that side of the fork. Figured I'd get the fork oil changed while...

Wish I could reach you, Todd. I've been trying to get in touch regarding some service on my California, but haven't heard back. Please phone or email if you see this. Thanks.

    Passing of a friend

I have some very unfortunate news to relay to any of you who may have known him (and I know at least some of you did), that while several of us were on a ride today Michael Gottleib had a fatal crash. If anyone would like to attend services, let me know and as soon as I have information I will...

    Mike Bacon Crash and Burn

Gee, I was just riding with Mike on Friday. I'm so sorry to hear about this. I'll drop by his house later on to see him.

Great day for a ride. First time in a long time.

Happy for you. It's great to know that life can go on as you want it.

What did you do to your Moto Guzzi today?

Took the CalVin for a ride up to Newcomb's the other day, and then rode my V7 Sport around yesterday just to give it some exercise. Went with a friend who has a '93 Daytona 1000 and we traded off for awhile. I fell in love with his Daytona - what a great motor.

    SW movement

Had an absolutely great ride today with Mike and Rich R. Good weather, good food, no traffic, no LEOs. We ride every week, Bare, usually on weekdays, so feel free to join us sometime.

    SW movement

Hey Mike, how about Tuesday at the Shell at 10:30, and we'll go ACH to AFH to the 49er in Acton? While I prefer the ride to Newcomb's, I don't really fancy hanging out in an empty parking lot in front of a closed establishment.

Those temps in the mountains are definitely doable.

    SW movement

Okay, time to get this SW area moving again after an entire month of no posts. Anyone interested in a ride up Angeles Crest early next week? Say Monday or Tuesday? Supposed to get a little warmer.

    Dam it's cold out here!

I just flew back to L.A. from Connecticut, and it was good to get home. It gets REALLY cold for us thin-blooded types who aren't used to it anymore.
