New dealer coming in British Columbia??

I've been warned! If you don't want one or can't afford one, don't test ride one. I'm not shopping, but I have heard nice feedback from people dealing with them, and it's time I rode down there for a visit. Very happy to have them here on "The Island".

The Sacred Screw, the elusive 4.8, my story

Go to the first post on top of this page and read through it all. Both my carcs have been sorted in this way. Hands off starting hot or cold. Idle speed is key.

    Diagnosing misfiring issues on a 1979 1000SP

For the erratic idle: Make sure your throttle slides are not "hanging on the cables" (check freeplay at cable ends.) Check your pilot jets in the bottom of your carbs.

    Stelvio Seat

Thanks John. My experience is also that firmer is better on long days. Good thoughts from both of you. The Cali Touring seat I fitted to may Jackal in the past was firm, well shaped (for me). Could ride it all day. I have a project !!

    Stelvio Seat

I have a high powered gun for my compressor. Used it to doctor the seat on my Buell (now departed). Where can I find a gel-pad? The Breva could be a good candidate.

This year I MUST get the V7 downtown for Italian week !!

Too far! 3 years ago or so (before covid) we travelled to Calgary for our niece's wedding. The night before, we went to a restaurant (Italian) in a neighborhood called Kensington. It was on two levels. Downstairs there was a V-7 Racer parked in between the tables (chrome tank and all)...

Since we are neighbors, did you have the gel insert done locally? Or did you do it yourself? I have seen some nice upholstery coming out of your area.

Weird tire wear pattern - anybody want to read the tea leaves?

A couple of tires ago (Griso 11) my front looked like that after 8k km. When we replaced it, we looked inside, and there was signs of "delamination" in the tire's belts. Serious cupping. It affected the steering big time, and was good riddance in the dumpster. Bridgestone T-30. The T-32 (2...

    Breva 1100 - rear brake

Got front brake caliper seals (B-11) from "Brakemaster" (dot com) in the UK last fall. They seem to only sell on ebay. Offer an amazing amount of kits for most bikes. Caliper fixed. Don't use their replacement bleed nipples. Kits include the small o-ring between the caliper halves. In your back...

Breva 1100, 110,000 miles, Long Distance Information.

8 years ago, I scored a used lift table from a friend who quit riding. Made for Harbor Freight Tools in the US, it is very low tech, but has been a real game-changer for good maintenance. Getting on the floor is the easy part, getting back up, not so much :(

    Help with my MGX21

I have used a marine product called "Corrosion Block" for many years. Safe even on electronic curcuit boards, and inside electric motors etc. In the US try West Marine. Contact cleaner first, followed by this stuff got rid of all my nuisance service alerts quite a few years ago, and they have...

If you haven't cut those holes (is it just tape?) I feel (who the hell am I?) they may look better cut vertically, maybe matching the angle of the leading edge of the sidecovers?
