    V11 won't start when hot

on my 04 v11s..., the Neutral switch can cause it. Even when my light was lit, it wouldn't start sometimes. This always happened during a hot/warm restart, ie after a ride and filling up the tank on the way home.... A simple prod of the gear lever usually got it going. NOt sure if you mentioned...

Thanks for the replies. I didn't do the conversion but apparently it has the spacers already. I realize now my horns were hitting the lower fender lip on bumps which caused it to crack. ciao!

    LM V front fender

Howdy, I've have a 86 LM4 that was converted to and 18" and 300mm disc set up and the stock fender just doesn't fit well. I checked airtech/ mgcycles harpers and haven't had any luck finding and LMV front fender which seems like it will fit the stock forks. Appreciate any feedback on...

    Charging system question

I replaced the rotor and the charge light still doesn't even come on although it will go on when I short the connector that goes to the positive slip ring. Can the rectifier still work properly with the charge light part not working? The charging seems ok now and I have a volt meter anyway. Any...

    Charging system question

Peter, I did get the charge light to go on when I connected the slip ring connector and grounded it. I didn't have a chance to check continuity on the poles to the rings... if the rotor is supposed to have 3.4 ohms and I have 3.1... that's aprx reduction of 10% which is about what I'm...

    Charging system question

My 86 LM's alternator rotor measures 3.1 ohms across the slip rings and there is a small leak at the tapered shaft - seal behind the rotor. The warning light, does not light up at all, bulb and connections are fine. The charging is just adequate to keep the battery at around 12.35 volts after...

    Alternator Question (D- spade)

Question regarding the D- spade that's connected to the inner brush and also is grounded. Should there be another connection going to another ground or somewhere else for that spade connector? It doesn't look like it's been used or connected to anything before. I have 3.1 ohms across the slip...

Transmission compatibility 07' Cal to an 86' LMiv

Transmission compatibility 07' Cal to an 86' LMiv

Re:Transmission compatibility 07' Cal to an 86' LM I wasn't clear enough. This all happens just being in Neutral with the bike running either on the centerstand or not. I tried to just creep away in and it's pretty bad. I'll drain to see if the plug has collected bits.... Thanks Charles

Transmission compatibility 07' Cal to an 86' LMiv

Very noisy and very briefly engages with a horrible sound while on the centerstand in neutral, quiets down when the clutch in pulled in. I put a stethoscope thing to it and it really bad near the rear of the box. The clutch area was quiet. The gearbox was also run with oil only 1/2 full for...
