Ok now that my body has healed from Bambi taking me out its time to put the bike back together. Need a new fork set and bars has anyone tried to install a different set of forks just wondering what would be involved. Been a mechanic for 30 years and have a complete machine shop out back so...
Have a 2004 with 36000 miles used as a daily driver in San Francisco bay area. I take it everwhere freeway does great easy light bike to ride around town. Price sounds fair rear brake is disk but not really used much. Really easy to maintain I'd take it over a big block anytime but I'm only 5'...
Early about 10 am wish I knew more but only thing I've got is whats in police report I lost about 2 hours of time that day.
I got some parts from ebay but still looking for a few things Its going to cost more to replace my gear then to fix the bike.
Doc said ankle may take 2-3 months to get...
Deer took me out. I think the deer won. Damage to me not bad just my ankle but bike is going to need some work. Looking for used parts does anyone have a clue where I can start?
Need front end stuff, dash, headlight, bars with switches, fender, r/s lower fork, axle.
Could have been worse I...
Racetech doesn't have a set that will fit the smallblock. Best bet is with Guzzitech. They use YSS and Todd makes spacers that fit the guzzi forks.
I've installed them on my Breva. They are easy to install but take some time to get adjusted right. The only way to adjust them is to tear dowm the...
To install rear shocks I had to remove the two plastic tool bag holders and trim some of the underside of the fender. The compression adjust can be made with the seat removed rebound very easy to get to. I've also seen the shocks installed the other way but it makes it hard to get to the...
Have a 750 Breva and installed YSS shocks on rear and the upgraded kit for the forks. Got all the parts from guzzi tech. Everything fit and works. Todd is a great help. About a 1/2 days work to do the forks and about an hour for the shocks.
Can't say enough about how it improved the bike. It...
10.5 volts way too low. What kind of charger are you using. Some if left on too long will cook the battery. Should be using a float type battery charger to keep battery up over long periods. Low voltage causes higher amperage which will burn out the contacts in relays and on the starter. If the...
Check that you have power to the bulb. The wire to the sensor is almost impossible to get to. You can put a test lead on a long screwdriver and reach into the valley and ground out the switch that way, but don't pull off the wire. Good luck
If your really worried you ca pull off the rubbers on the air intakes and see if there is any build up on the throttle bodies. But I don't think there is much to worry about. I didn't change my filter till 15000 and if still wasn't that bad. Unless your riding in socal where you can cut the air...
The two holes in the mounting brackets can be slotted so the muffler slides further into the pipe. Did this on my Breva and sloved the problem. There was a bulletin from Guzzi about doing this.
I just rebaffled my pipes and the conv sits about 5'' inside the pipes. The plating company should be able to replate them. The factory plated them as a unit so it can be done.
How many miles on the bike. If it has over 15,000 it could just be the pressure plate springs rattling. The snap ring and center release plate will get loose and add to the noise also. Nothing really to worry about just lets you know its running.
