There may be some vendor-specific codes possible, but I would expect the vast majority of them to be industry standard, so a quick google search should find the meaning of the code. I know the errors I've seen on mine are standard ODB codes... nothing specific to Moto Guzzi.

I would suggest that anyone with an E4 or E5 bike pick up the cheap-o diagnostic tools that Todd points out in this thread:
https://www.guzzitech.com/forums/threads/obd-ii-port-reader-e4-5-red-diag-plug-guzzis.22548/
For about $25 you can have the tools you need to diagnose error codes...
Here's the original service bulletin that describes the sensor wire re-route. (I've not seen the revised bulletin that describes the sensor replacement).
It might be worth checking the wiring as prescribed in this TSB - it can't hurt, but it might help.

It's worth noting that for the E5 idle issue, there was a service bulletin. The first bulletin instructed dealers to relocate the wiring coming from the crank sensor so that it was somewhat separated from the ignition coils, which were apparently interfering with the signal. It seems that in...
Yes, that's hands-off the throttle. If you gave it a little throttle, it would stabilize (like ~2,000 RPM). And this behavior was intermittent - only happened when the engine was hot, and even then... not all the time.
My wild assumption is that the crank sensor clearance was out-of-tolerance...
LOL those sneakers in the vid look like knock-off Air Jordan v1s, but presumably with the Guzzi logo on them? Make sense... they both used wings LOL
Note, however, that MG did actually do a collab with Timberland...
Out of curiosity, you're idle behavior doesn't resemble this at all, does it?
A handful of E5 bikes (including mine) suffered from this problem, which was related to a faulty crank position sensor (CPS), determined after months of triage with the dealer/Piaggio. The fix for this ends up being...
I also noticed up/down/resume not working recently on my E5. It was a bit baffling because I could have sworn I used that functionality before, but it otherwise didn't stop me from using CC, so I got over it. Good to know that it may just need an update.

I've always let it sit for a bit before checking. It seems to me that if you check it immediately after shutting off the engine, it will be hard to get a good reading as the oil will be actively settling into the sump, so the level will be in flux at that point.
However, I never totally...
It's just unfortunate that the Ducati customers were able to get a class action suit going and get satisfaction from the company, while Guzzi owners that had the exact same problem were left hanging in the wind. I wonder if there's still a possibility of a class action for Guzzi, or if that...
The consensus I've seen in various forums is that the blisters are actually water leaching through the tank wall due to ethanol. Draining the tank and letting it dry thoroughly (months?) returns it to normal, at which time the tank can be sealed on the inside.
My V11 Sport has a rash of tiny...
Yep, understood. I don’t particularly like such devices, but I got one to have as a “Plan B” in case remapping became problematic. Despite various positive reviews, their promise still seems too good to be true with such a simplistic device.

I'd still like to get to the bottom of my occasional misfire errors, but I've been giving some love and attention to the poor neglected Ducati as of late, so I'll probably get back to that later. I've heard rumblings that there may have been updated OEM maps released recently (not positive), so...
Its definitely something to keep an eye on, though. Any issues with throttle control may be too subtle to really notice at this point. Generally speaking, even bikes that have had no modifications may benefit from an occasional TPS reset as a part of basic maintenance. But glad you got it...
Yes, the OEM heated grips for the V85 (and various other fly-by-wire Piaggio bikes) are a complete replacement of the entire stock grips, which happen to include the TPS (or, as they like to call it now "throttle demand sensor"?). The fact that his is working just fine without a TPS reset is...
Getting that clip off with or without the o-ring takes some effort, but I like the idea of securing it with a cable tie - I’ll probably do the same. Thanks, Gerry.

With some chargers, I would agree. However, Battery Tenders drop into float mode when the battery is charged, and float mode _should_ be able to be sustained pretty much indefinitely. Been using them for many years with no issues previously (and on batteries that would last 10+ years). However...
Just wanted to echo the fact that you can’t assume a battery is good because it was “new”. Our V7III came home in fall, spent winter on a battery tender, and come spring - was dead. Tender thought it was charged, meter showed it was charged, putting any load at all in it killed it. Cooked cell...
Anyone know the purpose of this. Was looking at my brake pedal, and spotted the o-ring, which was actually broken with multiple cracks. It fell off as I was checking it out.
#17 on the diagram. No idea what purpose it serves, other than just sitting there. As mine now fell off, it’s no longer...
