I figured my friend's bike out. The battery was testing good all day long. The bolt that holds the negative cable to the battery was too long by about 0.02mm, leaving the feeling that the bolt was tight, meanwhile the ground cables were barely touching the battery post. It's been starting all...
Hey @Brad, have you or MPH ever found the problem with your bike? I am interested in what the fix was, as I am working on a friend's bike with the same problem.
For the V85tt, There is also a cap for the "piston cooling nozzle" in the (right or left?) rear of the engine block. The same cap and nozzle is also in the (right or left?) front for the opposite side piston. The best thing to do is locate the leak, and it could be as simple as something in the...
I like the idea of an oil cooler, although I did read (probably here) that the V85 has been tested and found that an oil cooler is not necessary, given Qatar's climate, I would beg to differ, an oil cooler with a fan on it seems like a necessary add-on.
Has anyone used the MIA (Moto Guzzi Multi-media platform) on the V85tt and were able to upload a .gpx/.kml file to use through the navigation app portion of this device? Any help, including reference to an older post would be almost as lovely as the V100 Mandelo.
I used to work at a KTM/Aprilia/Vespa dealer. We had the PADS tool (Piaggio Advanced Diagnostic System). While connecting to Aprilia/Vespa, it also gave the option to connect to other Piaggio subsidary makes & models (I used it for my MG Norge 1200 8V). If there is a Piaggio dealer near you...
Hi all, I am curious as to where I can buy alternator parts, specifically brush holder w/plate. There are no alternator parts available from Bosch, just curious if anyone else has rebuilt their alternator?
Hi guys, I have just completed my repair, and my noise is gone. First I replaced the tensioner, because that made sense, right? CHange the noisy part. No. A little better? Yes. Completely better at hot & low RPM? No. Come to find that the oil sump intermediate flange gasket was bad/torn. Oddly...
Having worked at Moto Marin (BMW/Moto Guzzi) (before they closed) I remember specifically that the link to lower the silencer came as part of the side case package. If you didn't install the luggage, there was no need to lower the exhaust. And yes, the tab on the silencer's do mount on the...
I've had a similar problem on my Norge 8V, I disconnected the vapor recovery lines, replaced the one way valve, and blew compressed air through them, I did get a lot of water come out of the line between the canister and the tank overflow vent tube tee. and I noted the the line that is routed...
I have a similar problem on my 2014 Norge, it will work going down, but no power at the motor when going up. Looking at the wiring diagram, it seems that either the microswitch or one of those two relays. What have you found on your bike keith?
Hi everyone, my first post here, I am curious at what temp does the oil cooler fan thermo-switch close to turn on on my 2014 Norge 8V. I heard it run a few times when the bike was new, and haven't heard it in about 2 years now. I disconnected the connector and closed the connector with a jumper...
