Ring end gap for an LMIV

Hi All, Does anyone have piston ring end gap data for an LMIV that they could post? I don't know if it's my imagination but manuals for the 'Lemon' don't seem all that available in English. If anyone had a heads up on that, I'd be really grateful too. Ta, James Manser

    LMIV shorter shocks

Thanks for the confirmation John... Happy to sacrifice a little bit of clearance for the feel it has now. I've been dicking around with heights/oil weight/springs etc... on the front for a few years so, when this one fluked it I was very happy. Cheers, James

    LMIV shorter shocks

I just popped a shorter pair of koni shocks from my 850T onto my LMIV (while rebuilding the LM shocks) and, wow, what a difference. They're 10MM shorter and have really stabilised the front around the city. Haven't taken it for a proper ride yet but was wondering if anyone had experienced any...

    LM IV starter wiring

Hi All, Many thanks for the feedback. It turns out the starter was a dud. It would spin when off the bike but just didn't have the grunt to spin the motor. I bought a valeo and hey presto. The little piggyback wire is just an extra lead to the starter spade. Don't know why it's there. Thanks...

    LM IV starter wiring

Actually just found this diagram when checking out Valeo starters which looks like it could explain that terminal. Would this act as a way to circumvent the neutral switch?

    LM IV starter wiring

Thank you gentlemen, much appreciated advice. I'll check the wiring as per your suggestions tomorrow then buy a Valeo if it's the motor. The Bosch has always struggled on the MK IV. I put a Valeo on my old V50 and was really impressed with it. Cheers,

    LM IV starter wiring

Hi All, I'm having a problem with my starter motor. I went to start it a couple of days ago and it wouldn't crank so I jumped it and it went fine. Tested battery - all good Replaced relay Checked starter wire and there's juice going to the starter motor when I press the starter switch Bench...

    Double plugging an 850T?

Thanks Brett, I'd been thinking it might be a bit OTT for a street bike. Appreciate the advice. Cheers, James

    Double plugging an 850T?

Hi all, I'm thinking about double plugging my new project 850 T. Guzziology advised it's a good thing for T's but wondering if anyone has any personal experience/traps for new players etc.... E.G, I've got a Dyna III ignition and am assuming this will do the trick with double coils. True story...

    Ideal 850T3 setup

Gutsibits in the UK have the steel gears. Been looking at them for my LMIV but have heard they're not always the best answer. http://www.gutsibits.co.uk/pr/TheShop/i ... rch=SEARCH Cheers, James

Cam chain crank sprocket nut tool? LM IV

Hey Kym and John, Thanks heaps for both responses. The tools on MG Cycle are great but have ordered from them before and their postage is (way way way) too prohibitive to OZ. The quote was something like $50.00 for a wee little small package. Sometimes I get very jealous of the deals offered in...

    Dyna coil positions LeMans IV

Far out, that's a seriously clean looking set up! I ended up just bolting under side cover. They seem fine...... Heaps better than the sh*te ones I had on before. Thanks for all the replies. Cheers, James

Cam chain crank sprocket nut tool? LM IV

Hi All, I'm changing my cam chain for the first time and looking for advice on tool for removing the slotted lock nut which retains the crank sprocket. I have done a bit of research and evidently Rolf Halvorsen in Norway makes beautiful tools for this job. I am in Australia though and wanted to...
