I wouldn't give my credit card number to China either! There are a lot of original Honda pegs to be picked up locally. As Brian said the Goldwing riders don't want them - they change them out for foot boards. A good used set should go for $50.00 or near there. Try sourcing them on a Goldwing...
Thanks for the tip. I ended up buying two new bulbs that were insulated right to the connector. The old bulbs, though both still working were a year old, and I don't want to have one burn out while I am away from home touring.
I found brand new GL1800 pegs that the Honda owner removed in favour of Foot Boards. I bought the pair for $35.00 CDN! I discovered that RS Honda spring fits in perfectly on the Norge LS. The LS Honda spring requires a hole to be drilled on the Norge RS. See photos.
I also have had my Centurian since 2012, and the original software did not have the Speed Cal tab. I downloaded the latest version, and viola there it was under the "Active Settings" (screw driver icon)
My Norge reads 100 KPH with a GPS actual of 97 KPH. Because the difference is so small, I...
It sounds as if you have discovered a great fix for an issue I have been living with since 2012! Do the Honda pegs bolt in with the existing fastening hardware? Could you please explain a little more about the spring fit?
I have the Technoresearch Centurian Diagnostic Kit for my 2012 8V Norge. The software has (among many other features) a tab to correct speedo error to GPS indicated input.
That is exactly where I found the problem: RS Low Beam. The H3 bulbs that I had installed last season were not insulated all the way to the connector. As a result the bare part shorted inside the low beam housing cover. Note to self: not all H3 bulbs are created equal!
Thanks for your input.
I checked out a number of possibilities and still that fuse kept popping. I inadvertently, put the brights switch on, and voila: the fuse did not pop with the engine running!!!!! As soon as I dimmed the brights, the fuse would blow.
Its now 5:00 PM in Ontario and about 31 degrees outside. I...
In the bottom right hand corner of the schematic, it is the 20 amp fuse with the red/green wire on one side and a green/white wire that goes to the #87 pin on the #6 relay and the #30 pin on the #5 relay. It is not a 40 amp fuse.
I will check the lights. I am going to test the starter motor...
The 30 Amp fuse goes to the key switch and the instrument panel. The 20 amp fuse that I am having a problem with comes off the power supply, through the fuse then to the starter and headlamp relays.
I have had my 2012 Norge since new and have never had an electrical issue. It now blows the 20 amp fuse that runs power to the relays. With the fuse blown, the engine will start, but the alternator stops charging the battery. I have replaced the alternator and all 4 relays, but the fuse keeps...
I have a 2012 Norge that had a similar leak that turned out to be the oil pressure sensor. Changing the compression washer did not fix it - had to replace the sensor.
Thank you for your reply - very encouraging. Could you please define that "technical" term you used: fiddlling? I am very interested to know just what you did to get the correct resistance.
Cheers
Walter
I just came back from a trip to West Virginia, putting on about 2,500 kms. Over the course of the trip, on about 5 or 6 occasions, the fuel gauge would give me a reading, after starting up. It was usually indicating less fuel than was in the tank, and would fall to empty a few minutes later. I...
I drained the tank, opened up the fuel pump assembly to see anything was binding. When I re-filled the tank, the fuel gauge started working. When I put more fuel in, the gauge fell back to empty. I am hoping it will bounce around and re-set itself.
I just changed the fuel filter on my 2012 Norge. The local Guzzi dealers had none in stock, but the BMW dealer had 40! The BMW part number is : 16-14-2-325-859. It is EXACTLY the same filter as the Guzzi.
After re- assembling the unit, I find I have an issue with my fuel gauge. I think the...
