    Oil Cooler Thermostats

I've fitted an R+R thermometer dipstick to my 8v Sport, and on a hundred mile ride out today, in ambient temperatures of between 7 and 10 degrees C, was interested to find oil temp of 100 C. In fact , having warmed the engine up for five mins and then gone a mile to juice up, the temp was...

    oil cooler stat

Has anyone fitted an oil cooler thermostat to an 8v Sport ? If so which brand/size did they use ? Apparently 2v's already have one but it's probably unlikely that they are compatible.

    1200 Sport Centrestands

Seems like a good solution, can you remember if the bobbins were for a particular model motorcycle ? Just wondered if some were a better option than others.

    1200 Sport Centrestands

Struggling to get a stand for my 8v Sport, just learned that MG no longer produce them , and it seems getting hold of a specific workstand is like trying to find the holy grail . Any ideas, before going down the " adapt a paddock stand " route ?

    running in 1200 sport

interesting school of thought. When I was a teenager and riding 250's, there were some youths who swore by giving their new ( lucky b**tards) or rebored bikes plenty of stick from the word go, and claimed they were faster as a result, so yes, might be the best way, but might stick with the fully...

    running in 1200 sport

Recently sold my 06 Griso and picked up a 2013 1200 sport 8v with 600 miles on the clock. I'm aware, as everyone else is on here, that Guzzis really aren't fully run in 'til somewhere in the teens have been achieved, so I'm just kind of wondering, how careful, if at all , I need to be with this...

    Is 7 years too long?

There's probably no definitive answer to your question, some batteries seem to last a long time and others don't, an optimate or other device certainly helps to prolong life. I'm up to 8 years on my Griso's and about 10 on my Buell. If it's niggling you then I would say replace it .

Current options for narrower bars (shorter rider as well)

Re: Current options for narrower bars (shorter rider as well I find that the stock " wide" bars give a good riding position, and are part and parcel of an overall, great handling bike . I'm 6' 3" but even with narrower bars, shorter riders would still have to reach forward the same distance.

    Wrynose and Hardknott passes

Went over both passes a couple of weeks ago, had forgotten what a gnarly ,narrow road through it was, but a blast anyway with superb views. Imagine being a Roman soldier all those years ago, posted at Hardknott , spending winter up there in just flip flops , they must have been tough.

    OEM Griso Fly Screen order

It's this safety conscious, plastic, p.c world that a lot of us find ourselves in. Trouble is, the powers that be don't give a shite about your health and well being, all they are concerned about is not being sued. Rant over

What did you do to your Moto Guzzi today?

Tried to get out today on my G11, freewheeled it down the lane to avoid waking the neighbours ( it was 7.45 am on a Sunday) Bastard wouldn't start due to a flat battery, pushed it back to the garage , all of a hundred yards and got the jump leads out, still no go, battery is toast. Keep it on an...

I've used Gutsibits , and find them good to deal with. There is another Guzzi dealer, the Rocket centre at Blackburn, who also sell other makes aswell.
