GT (eldorado) tacho - how to diagnose

I have finally got my GT loopframe back on the road. Have to take the paperwork in and get a plate, but that's all. However... The tacho she no work. Now in the dim mists of memory I recall that it has been once to an instrument repair bod but I don't remember if it was working when the bike...

blow fuse blow! long tale of electrics.

So we have had a rather depressing few weeks. First the Noggie misbehaves rather. As in insisting on idling at 2k. I know it's done that before, and usually calms down after it's been turned off for a bit,. But leave work and it's doing it again! Then about 2/3 of the way home and the motor...

    Throttle Cruise

How different are Stelvio bars from Breva/Norge? Reason I ask is that I have fitted one of these: http://www.motorradgarage.com.au/catalo ... cts_id=277 which is a similar idea to the throttlemeister. The bar end weight bit is the same size and weight as the OEM, so everything fits as you expect.

Norge refuses to start when warm

Rather belated followup... The relay wiring fix did the job. It's started like a good little bike since then. Funny, I have had to do a similar fix on my loopframe and on my 850T! You'd think they'd have sorted it in 30 years, wouldn't you.

    Tire replacement for 1200 Norge

I'm on my 3rd set of Z6s. I've been getting 15k km out of the rear and closer to 20 out of the front. No idea what I'm doing to get that sort of milage!

Norge refuses to start when warm

Thanks for the link Brian, I'll have to take the laptop down to the bike and see if I can work out the areas they are talking about. Looks like it might need a fairing strip, ugh.

Norge refuses to start when warm

Battery all done, and I think Dave did the starter when he did a service. (After transporting the bike from the side of the road where it had refused to start even when *I* was bloody cold!) It's done it once after it refused to not start for Dave, and been OK since then. I still don't trust...

Norge refuses to start when warm

At the moment, I'm just commuting. 40 min ride to work, park, 40 min ride home. Sometimes I stop to shop on the way home, and frequently the Noggie will refuse to start! Lights all work, fuel pump starts, no starter noise. If I wait till the bike has cooled down, it starts. I've tried...

    Heated Grip Grips

The rubber on my Norge's heated grips was worn. Stein Dinse said they could only get a complete new grip... $200! However BMW have similar grips and you can get the rubber replacements from them for about 20 bucks apiece. They are odd, in that they aren't the same diameter all the way...

    SW Motech Tankbag

Thanks! Looks like the City will be too small. Bummer. I suspect the Engage is about the same size as my old tankbag that I could convert. Time to get out the measuring sticks...

    SW Motech Tankbag

I know from my daypack that the dimensions given can be a bit tricky, especially for those with side packs and things, plus the tank shape ones are even harder to work out, so if anyone has say an Engage or a City or Trial, then actual internal measurements would be really useful. I already...

    SW Motech Tankbag

I can't find MikeC's pics of the various motech tankbags. Can anyone who has one that isn't the Daypak II give me an idea of the internal dimensions? I am looking for one that wil take my netboock 30cm x 20cm (12" x 8") Zebee

    Saddlebags (panniers) leaking

My Norge panniers leak a little. It looks like water collects on the top of the pannier, and seeps through the seal. Damned annoying really. Since buying the inners as mentioned here, I haven't had it out in the rain (welcome to the driest continent currently in a long drought) so I don't...

    Norge Tank Bag Questions

The daypack is small, but I like that! It takes a fair bit of "Stuff I need all the time" such as wallet, phone, PDA, small tool pouch, pouch of electronic whatsits, and a few other smallish things in the unexpanded version, lunch and a book in the expanded version, even a jumper if I try...

    Norge Tank Bag Questions

I went for the Bag Connections Daypack II which clips to a tank ring. MikeC had pics and stuff on the old board, with luck he'll pipe up and share the info with you. http://www.motorradgarage.com.au/catalo ... c59cc731e5 shows the various bags. You choose where to place the bag on the tank...

Givi Top case - Norge key?

I wanted that too.... but I think it would be hard work as the Norge key mechanism is quite large, and it would be difficuly to fit it. Have a look at your spare lock, then look at the givi case. It might fit in the lock hole, but would it move the tab? I think it will be too big. Zebee

    Parts Supply

Sometimes it is JSG (The Oz importers) not bothering to make an order till they get enough requirements. I think that panniers and box are things they don't make many of, I was told by JSG the Breva box was not in stock and had no ETA from the factory for example. (However, Dave Ward at Moto...

GuzziTech Penske Rear Shock - now a dealer

Re: Penske Rear Shock - GuzziTech is now a dealer! So can someone explain to me what these mean? What does the original Norge shock have for example? I'm short and solid, so I need a shock that can take a deal of weight, have reasonable compliance and not raise the ride height. (Yeah, I...

    thump!

Took it up to Dave Ward to have a look. The mudguard has a crease/crack/weak spot so that's being replaced. We got into the topbox via wriggling and squeezing and persuading the key, I'll claim on that anyway as it's not as good as it was after sailing across a lane of traffic. (JSG says not...

    thump!

I've tried prying the open button up, I suspect what has happened is that the car hitting the open button has bent a tab that is slotted into the open button and the remove button and is attached to the key. I think how it works is when you turn the key these tabs are turned and slide out of...
