    04 Cali oil leak.

Thanks for the reply, I think you're right. I don't know much about the MGs I only had this for a year. Would I be able to fix this with common tools?

    04 Cali oil leak.

After looking at it more, the leak seems to be moderate. The engine case is coated on that side with a light film of gunk, and it has a bit of dribble on the chrome exhaust cover. I don't see any spots on my garage floor and oil level is good.

    04 Cali oil leak.

I found some oil that seems to be coming from the left bank where the cylinder and the crankcase mate. Is this a common leak and could it cause rough idle? I'm mechanically inclined so I hope I should be able to fix it myself.

    04 Cali hot start issue

I think it is hot weather related. Today was much cooler than the day it was acting up, it was a little glitchy but nearly as bad. I will try removing the external vent line soon as suggested.

    04 Cali hot start issue

I'll do that thanks. I tried it again without it acting up and didn't pull the cap, but it is cooler out now with the Sun going down. Thanks for the advise so far.

    04 Cali hot start issue

That seemed to help this time. I'll retry in a hour and see if acts up then open the cap. I have notice a mild miss at idle, I can put my hand close to exhaust and the left side is cooler and lot less air. However the valve covers seem about the same tempature.

    04 Cali hot start issue

I know a guy at the shop I bought the from, I'll try to talk to him. I've been riding a good bit today and every time I get back on after a stop it acts up. When it putts out, it smells strong with fumes. I think it has something to do with the cold idle circuit.

    04 Cali hot start issue

After I shut my bike down for about 30 minutes it doesn't like to idle. It will start and run a few seconds then the rpms falls until it quits running. When it is acting up I can ride for very little then it will idle properly and when it's a cold start no issues. I was running 89 mid grade...

    After 1000 miles...

Yeah, we test drove a used GW and HD, the Guzzi was priced right so we agreed on getting it. Then after a while maybe getting something more expensive if she took to riding. Anyway I think we are both satisfied with the Guzzi that we may just keep it for a lot longer. Also, what difference a set...

    After 1000 miles...

My wife and I are very happy with the Calli. We joined a few riding groups and decided to invest in a set of Bluetooth helmet coms. We bought the Guzzi in June so we can ride 2 up and the price was about half of other used bikes we were looking at. I was thinking it would be a great starter for...

    Cali EV in shop.

Took my wife on a 2 hours ride early Saturday before it got hot , she said she enjoyed it but was too long for her. Our rides before were only about 30 minutes to an hour. I suspect she will get used to longer rides after more saddle time. The Guzzi does great for riding 2 up but even with the...

My helmet after I crashed last year

Well I know that jumping caused my ankle injury so it might have been the wrong reaction. I tried to save the bike but gave up when the bike got into the graveled shoulder. I had no more front brake and with the rear tire down I could not lean the bike. I wish I had that day back. It was a fun...

    Cali EV in shop.

Got the call yesterday to pick up the bike, I rode it home the brakes are great now. I will change the pads out when I get the time but I don't think they are bad. I took my wife for about an hour ride after I got home. I felt much safer without the pulsating, it was not fun trying to catch the...

My helmet after I crashed last year

Thought I would share this picture. I didn't realize my helmet took such a hit until I inspected the damage. I am still recovering from a broken ankle. I wrecked my supermoto style Suzuki, the rear tire blew out on a curve. I jumped before the bike slammed a guard rail. It was a weird...

I like it. Nifty concept but of course it is "just a hoot" as the guy says.

    Cali EV in shop.

Thanks for the help and heads up. We both can't wait to get the bike back, but we decided to wait because my wife is totally new to motorcycles. This is sort of an experimental bike for a season or two, then we might get a new one if she takes to riding.

    Cali EV in shop.

Thanks GT, nope I don't feel it in the pedal just suspension. I just got off the phone, the shop owner is replacing both front rotors at sellers cost. Do you think I should ask for new pads at my cost? Although the pads are not bad. I should have a the bike by Tuesday, with no braking issues...

    Cali EV in shop.

I bought a 2004 EV with less than 13,000 miles last week from consignment. I test road the bike twice and everything seemed good on the bike. The first day after I bought it, I felt a pulsation in the linked brake system that only can be felt at low speeds. I talked to the dealer about it, he...

Exhaust question for 04 cal ev

Yep, bought from a shop near Winchester. Thanks for the heads up on the mufflers they look a lot like Emgo and they seem to be on the loud side. I took some temperature readings, the exhaust flange is 327f after riding, under the flange is about 285, the intake side is 220+ and the exposed side...
