Ferracci is finished with Guzzi. Eurosports in Coopersburg hasn't done the best quality work for me. Expensive. Harness under the rear fender (two wires) going to the plate light was shorted by the tire because it wasn't seated properly in the bracket under the fender and hung down rubbing the...
Looks like the MGX21 concept bike may become a production model:

Wonder if we can just get the Fairing for our California Touring models?
Todd,
Thanks for the info. The shocks on my other bikes were stock, I don't know what the OEM supplier was. I'll have get the size specs of the Cali and see what I can find. Thanks!!
You mentioned going over rough roads or bumps, check under the rear fender, there's a disconnect plug for the license plate light harness. Mine came loose and rubbed on my rear tire and shorted, causing similar problems to yours. Blew fuses, caused ecu problems, no speed indication, went into...
I'm trying to decide if this is a dumb question because I don't know much about shock technology and engineering so here it is:
Would it be possible to put rear air shocks on the C14 Touring? Why would I not want to? I've had two bikes, a Vulcan Nomad Bagger and a Kawasaki Concours, both with...
Tony,
Thanks for the reply. I've been reading about the squeal and while it seems to be common, it doesn't seem to be an issue. Hopefully you're right about the low mileage. We'll just keep an eye on it. Thanks!
Mike
I posted this in the small block section but I'm not sure there's much activity there...
I just picked up a 2008 Breva 750 with 5k on the odo. Very nice and smooth engine.
I notice that when I downshift, there's a slight squeal, like a belt squeal. I thought, ok, like BMW boxers, maybe the...

I notice that when I downshift, there's a slight squeal, like a belt squeal. I thought, ok, like BMW boxers, maybe the crank drives a pulley and belt to the alternator/generator so when I downshift, the belt may...
I found it!!!!!
I said screw it and pulled the tank back to expose the wires and there it was just sitting coiled on top of the bundle of wires under the tank. Would have never seen it from the front. Sweet.
Thanks!

LongRider and Roadadventure:
I purchased the TomTom Rider and am having a heck of a time finding the gps wire and plug under the tank. I've removed the front plastic pieces to access the wires and I can't find any plugs that are not plugged into anything. I think I found the two heated grip...
Longrider,
I agree, no sense in splicing into the cable and converting to 5v on the old unit that has been well used and pretty much out of date. I now have an excuse to upgrade!
Hey Longrider,
Is the TomTom connector and lead long enough to run up to the handle bar to the mounted unit? I haven't looked yet. I use an old TomTom with a 5v mini USB connector and usually have to convert the bike's 12v to 5v. I might have an excuse to update my unit to a new one. Thanks in...
I just realized I never posted what the problem was after my lengthy issue report. It turns out that the wiring or plug under the rear fender wasn't secured properly and was hanging and being rubbed by the tire. This caused an intermittent short to the fuse box. The dealer made the repair and...
Thanks Longrider! That's what I needed to see. I've been on that page in the past but forgot about it. I appreciate you posting the URL.
I don't think the Stock backrest is bad, but it doesn't look as nice as the Guzzi backrest. The Shad case is available in gloss black, which will match my...
Thanks for the info, it's kind of what I was thinking. I do agree the Guzzi backrest looks nice from the pics. I'm going to have to see if I can find a pic of the Shad backrest to compare. Thanks again!
Since Shad makes the 50L case, does anyone know if the mounting plate is the same as the Shad SH50 50L case? I can get the black Shad case for much less than the Guzzi case and it comes with the mounting plate and backrest. It looks like there are four holes on the Guzzi luggage rack from the...
