    LED Option for California???

Todd can get you some good quality LEDs for your driving lights. This is not a one for one swap. I've come up with a plan to place the drivers under the tank so the lamps will fit into the housing and have adequate room to cool. This will involve modifying the original wiring to the driving...

California Touring LED Driving Lights Conversion Availability

Todd, do they think that the small ballast box would fit into this enclosure? Or would I be looking to find space on the bike? Thanks

California Touring LED Driving Lights Conversion Availability

I finally got some time. Here are some photos. Basic H8 in there now. There is some room in the domed back part. I don't know how much ventilation an LED would require.

California Touring LED Driving Lights Conversion Availability

I have searched the forums without any real luck for what I am looking for. I would like to replace the standard driving lights on my Cali with an LED light. I like the lines and the look of the originals so I would like to either convert those or purchase complete units that looks similar...

    Front fender mudguard

The epoxy is probably sturdier than the friction weld from the factory. At least I hope so.

    Front fender mudguard

Success was achieved by unbolting and tying it up with rope. Inside of fender and mudguard cleaned with Isopropyl alcohol, then using a large amount of Gorilla Glue two part plastic epoxy (nasty smelling stick stuff), I taped and clamped the offending piece back on for twenty four hours...

    Front fender mudguard

I will have to look at the custom but on the touring, I can only slide it up off the tire, I didn't have to courage to bend it much more to fit it out between the forks.

    Front fender mudguard

I was more concerned with kicking debris up into the oil cooler.

    Front fender mudguard

I don't like to rush, but impending vacation along with working out of town is causing some time pressure.

    Front fender mudguard

So, I just noticed, after a new tire, that the mudguard on the bottom of the fender had become detached on one side. Torn between ripping it off and trying to epoxy it back on. Can't take the fender off unless I take the tire off and I'm a bit pressed for time. Thoughts?

    Heading back to Nova Scotia

I was poking around Google Maps and that is what led me to think I might like that route. The last time I went in that direction, I stayed on the in inland route.

    Heading back to Nova Scotia

Bad, as in stop and go, a lot of traffic lights. I like the secondary roads, but really don't like stop and go traffic, especially in the summer.

    Heading back to Nova Scotia

Looking for route suggestions from Western Mass to Nova Scotia. I tend to avoid highways. Thinking of something like 202 over to 1 in Maine. Does anyone know how bad 1 is North of Belfast area? Should I jump up to 9? Thought appreciated. Thanks

    Oh No - Not Tires

Thanks for the input. I am not in the maintenance business these days. I have to rely on a dealer for all maintenance and repairs due to work constraints. I can either pay someone to work on the bike, or I can ride it. Definitely can't do both. I talked with a couple of dealers and was...

    Oh No - Not Tires

Let me toss another tire related question out there. What type of balancing are you guys using. Bubble, Spin, or Vertical Static? Pros? Cons? I am not a high speed rider, but ride 2 up for moderate distances (300-400 miles/day) and don't really want to deal with vibration. Thanks

    Hot Start issues

I got the bike back from the dealer a couple of weeks ago and have exposed it to various starting scenarios. No issues at all now. When I followed up with the dealer, the technician said all he did was reset the factory defaults. Starts like it should, hot or cold, or even in between.
