Cables & Lines for Shorter Bars

Have a 2001 Cali with 2003 EV bars. About to order some much shorter Pro Taper bars. My guesstimate is 4" shorter and 4" less pullback. Has anyone done this and what did you do about clutch, throttle cables and brake lines....what needed to be changed for shorter? Wondering if Stone...

What did you do to your Moto Guzzi today?

I love any project that is done without any negative incident. I am getting better, but still sometimes get myself into a corner with a buggered bolt or something that won't budge. Anyway, today I installed long-awaited H-Pipe for my 2001 Cali Special. Vroooom. It sounds amazing without the...

    Rear sets for Cal Special

Thank you Conteacher. Have never done anything like that before. Didn't realize they were kind of a one size fits many thing. Have to do some research on how people adapt to Calis.

    Rear sets for Cal Special

Want to do rearsets for the Cali Special before Spring. What are my options? Are there new parts available anywhere?

    recognize this handlebar clamp

anyone know if this is gonna be 22mm or "fat"? I have a fat one and would like to mount 22mm bars on my special. http://www.ebay.com/itm/02-Moto-Guzzi-C ... cd&vxp=mtr

    Eastern Beaver headlight harness?

What I don't understand is if a harness like this has such a huge positive impact, why don't the OEMs just wire the headlights that way? But it is true, the Eastern Beaver harnesses do improve the flow of juice in a noticeable way. At the end of the day it's just wire, a fuse holder, shrink...

Good reputable West / East Coast dealers?

Fast by Ferracci near Philadelphia is probably most respected northern Eastcoast dealer. Branchville Motors in CT is also a dealer with real experience. I would avoid the dealer in Northern NJ based on my personal experience.

    tonti & loop pix thread

I like the way this Stone has gone, and think I'll go in this direction on my 2001 Cali Special. Anyone know what seat that is? and is it a direct fit? Really like the handlebars. Looks like generic clip-ons? I would guess rear sets would be required with those bars. *EDIT*...

    Installation of Cali Sport Shield

First thing I checked was for threads. None. Interestingly, if look down the internal shaft, it appears the base (inside) has a hex shape. Hmmmm. And, it does slide over the shaft for the odo reset.

    Installation of Cali Sport Shield

Thought about that, Todd. Tried to pull it off gently, and no dice. It's weird that there were zero instructions. Thanks for the thought.

    Installation of Cali Sport Shield

Bought a Cali Sport Shield on eBay, new in the box. In the installation kit was a knurled knob that I cannot figure out. My guess is it MIGHT be somehow related to the odometer reset. I noticed that the little black knob for the odo reset is now really hard to get to with the shield installed...

What did you do to your Moto Guzzi today?

Too chilly to ride. Tomorrow will be warmer. Today I removed and attempted to polish my not so shiny valve covers with Simichrome. After 3 hours, better, but not great. Plan to remove them, the alt cover, the headers and go to a shop that polishes metal all day long on big machines. Not sure...

    Griso + NJ roads + pothole = crap :(

Might be tempted, depending on who you're insured by, to get an insurance estimate done by your dealer. If in fact it's done any damage to the suspension, they'll be able to tell and can make that part of the estimate. They'll also put replacement of the wheels into the estimate. And...

    What Windshield.

Sorry to revive such an old thread. Does anyone know if that flyscreen mentioned above will fit a 2001 Cali Special? The GU part number is GU973253600009 and I can't find anywhere on the net that says it will fit. I have found that it fits "Cali Classic" but don't know how close that is to...

    Demi-winterize?

The most I'd do, if you're at all concerned, is put some fuel stabilizer in it. Ethanol in gas, which is all we can get in NJ--no choice--isn't good for fuel lines, and some people think products like Sta-bil can help avoid problems. Last winter I managed to get out about every three weeks...

Are these available again? I have a 2001 Cali.

I hear it all the time BMW,s are better!!!!!

It's hard to do an apples to apples comparison when we're talking about bikes of many vintages. Having just sold a '78 airhead and an '03 oilhead, and bought an '01 Guzzi, all I can really tell you is my experience. The airhead was tough to get serviced when the issue was beyond my...

    Rear sets for Cal Special

I'd be interested. Rearsets like these in combination with a Fat Stone bar (I am looking for one) would help my riding position. Neal in NJ

poor running Cali after PC install

No worries Todd. Unreasonable to expect anyone to diagnose the situation from 3000 miles away. Really kinda classic situation--you buy a gizmo, install it, and suddenly the machine doesn't run right. So ya tend to blame the gizmo. This is not limited to motorcycles...it's true for hi-fi...
