    Got out on the T3 to look at the poppy reserve today. Coming out of Tehachapi you could see the colors 30 miles out. Orange, yellow, purple.

    If floats were the culprit then couldn’t you turn on the petcocks until the bowls were full, then turn them off. Then go thru with the start. It should at least fire up.     My T3 was doing exactly the same thing. It had spark, plenty of fuel and would backfire when I let off the trigger. I replaced the Lucas electronic ignition with a new Dyna III with new 5 OHM black coils and it fires on the first try. I think my old coils may have been the culprit.

    Thanks John. I found a used 311B on Ebay and ordered it. I'm covering at work for a pilot that retired so I'll be on for the next 168 hours straight (7 days :(). If I don't shoot myself between now and then it will at least be waiting for me at home.

    Wow! Beautiful bike. My cylinders were much worse than that and caused some damage but thankfully not to the cam or crankshaft. Looks like you got it stopped early. I ended up replacing the cylinders/ pistons, heads and the cam chain tensioner. The engine only had 20K miles. Good luck. Pat
