    I wonder ....if the sensor in reality is all that important ....i had one fail on a 1992 Ducati 900ss aswell... it started to leak ... On the Duck they are much more accesable just to the right of the clutch , any way it happened on a trip so i ended up just temporaily plugging it off to stop...
