Just picked up one of these (22k miles) and I'm not impressed with the suspension. Probably never been serviced and if I'm in there I may as well do springs/etc. I haven't measured sag yet - I'm about 185 without gear on, fairly sporty rider, probably mostly solo maybe some with a little luggage.

Anyone done this already and know which rate fork springs to get? I like straight rate but not a huge deal either way. Also is 10w oil the way to go? Do these forks have half decent damping or do they usually need revalved?

I'll address the rear shock too, still looking at options there.

Yes I tried the search but came up empty on the forks! Thanks.

You didn't search in the STORE did you?

I'm sure Todd can get you virtually anything you could want up to and including a whole new top of the line front end. Just go to that link and scroll down. The offerings are extensive. I think the only limit would be the size of your wallet.

You can contact him directly at the link at the top of that page for the fork springs.

Thanks Scott. I did see the springs but didn't see anything about the valving/oil question. I'll ask Todd when I ask about the springs and go from there.

I found this adjustment made a difference for me. It turns out Todd prefers the same, as he noted on another thread. I raised the forks, 15 mm through the trees, quicker, more appropriate turning is the result.
