I recently refitted my rear wheel w/o locating the caliper correctly on the swing arm.First time the rear brake was applied, the caliper swung under the rotor & snapped the brake hose.I replaced the line but have had no success getting pressure to the front brake.I took the splitter to my local Guzzi mechanic, who didn't recognise it as a Guzzi part.He asked if there was a proportion valve on the swing arm. There wasn't & I doubt one could have been torn off & then disintegrated along the hyway.Unfortunately I don't know of any other Vintages around here to check.Does the 06 Cali Vintage split brake system differ from other Cali's.If there's no valve on the rear brake line,is there a trick to bleeding this system.I can pressure feed fluid thru the front & rear calipers into the master cylinder reservoir w/o getting any pressure to the front brake using the brake pedal.I cant use pressure to suck fluid from the reservoir thru the splitter to the front caliper either suggesting fluid only travels in 1 direction thru the splitter, caliper back to reservior.Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks RJ

For some obscure reason, Guzzi dropped the proportioning valve on this model. Strange, since it seems a good idea to me.

Bleeding linked brakes is a real PITA, I tried just about every trick in the book to bleed my EV Touring, and just ended up frustrated. You will need a mimimum of two people, a lot of patience and a lot of brake fluid. Crack every joint in the system as you make your way up, and tap the lines to dislodge bubbles. Repeat ad nauseum, eventually you will suceed.

If anyone has a better foolproof method, I would like to hear it too.
