1100 Carb Sport Manifold Ignition Timing Feed

The carb manifolds on my 1100 Sport have tiny tiny air ports that link up to the ignition box for timing (I assume).

I have slotted this engine into a tonti frame, and now I need to use custom straight manifolds to get the carbs and filters that I like to clear the frame. HOWEVER, I can't find anything with the tiny air ports.

My question is- can I make a line using the 6mm sync ports instead? All of the straight manifolds have these for carb sync tools. How important is the inner diameter of the air flow to the ignition box? I could screw in a 6mm air barb and use a larger hose, but if enlarging the air flow will cause any ignition issues, forget it, I'll run shorty velocity stacks.

I think maybe I approached this problem in a complicated way.

Just found this K&N (attached image)... may allow me to clear the frame tubes while keeping the manifold stock. I REALLY don't want to get into electric mods, not yet at least. The only way I can handle this project mentally is to remind myself that the running gear is stock from the 1100, and it should run perfectly when I crank it over.
