I dropped the oil today and noticed a small ( about the head of a match in size) deposit of swarf?
Very fine no chunks and dissolved quickly when rubbed between fingers. Should I be concerned or is this normal?

Box changes well not too clunky bit whirs a bit due to straight cut gears.

My clutch starts slipping but only when hot, also notice the cable has massive slack and can't be adjusted further at ether end

I'd say the gearbox is probably OK, but it sounds like a clutch job is in order. Then possibly a replacement of the clutch cable.
