Hi,

I finally got my '12 Griso and need some help setting up the suspension. I'm 210 lbs. 6' 4" and it rides like a buckboard right now. Can someone point me to a thread? I've used the search but can't seem to find it.

Thanks,

Eric

This has -- as have most Griso owners' butts -- been beaten to death.

There is a stickied thread there, too.

When I get mine back to Virginia in May and retire in late June, thinking about having a "Griso Suspension Tech Day," with some guru (not me! ) leading those interested in taming these wonderful beasts.

Thanks guys. Bill, sign me up! It's a bit of hump to get to Redline for me to get the suspension adjusted. I have a trip to NC Easter weekend so I guess I'll have to tough it out till I can get to the dealer or your tech day.

Eric,
Here is the "stickied" suspension thread.
https://www.guzzitech.com/forum/219/7953.html
Read through this thread and give a couple of these set -ups a try. I used the same settings as the OP, except I went with the front preload dropped to the 6th mark and for tire pressure I run 37(f), 40(r). The handling on a Guzzi seems to be more sensitive to tire pressure than other bikes, so keep in mind that just a couple of pounds pressure difference can make a big change in handling feel.
This set up completely transformed the bike for me. I have since dialed the rear rebound back another 5 clicks (35 clicks) and it feels about perfect!
When I set it up, my "riding" weight was between 200-210, so it should be close for you too.
I am interested to see how things feel on the first "aggressive" ride of the season as I've lost about 30 pounds in the past 2 months. Hope I don't have to do to much tweaking to keep it feeling perfect!

How about a traveling suspension troupe? Congrats on the retirement decision . . . may your fortunes appreciate. :)
