my 2012 sport gear change is rather clonky, bike done 4500miles. Is there a way I can adjust to stop this?
Cheers.

Is this a new condition? If not, it may be your shifting technique. Search this forum for suggestions.

Banjoman,

A number of things spring to mind:
- Right quantity/quality of gearbox oil?
- Plunger not adjusted correctly on the clutch lever (others have had issues with the grub screw falling out or just loose, allowing the plunger to "self adjust", usually the wrong way);
- Right amount of uncontaminated clutch fluid in the reservoir;
- Bleed the clutch;
- Try it without a clutch once moving (yes it can be done, but probably not around town);

Let us know what you find and please, only do one thing at a time, then go test. Start with the simple things first.

Thanks for info my friend. I'll check this out today and report back. I'm reading that "gearbox clonk" is part of the Guz experience!

Hey Banjoman! Take a look at this post.

Replacing the front spherical CARC reaction rod bushing with the upgraded SilentBloc bushing will make a huge difference. I did this on my '07 Norge and the shifting is night and day, even from neutral into 1st at a standstill!! Just be sure to use a screwdriver blade or flatbar to maintain the longitudinal gap in the rod when pushing out the old and pressing in the new bushing. The rear bushing is different than the front so don't mess with it. Good luck!

Thanks a lot for link and info! I'll certainly look into this.
