Well, I've done 3,000 in 3 1/2 months and have loved most of it. The riding position is very good. Riding at a leisurely pace, the bike is comfortable. It doesn't transform quickly into a faster bike, you need to make the conscious decision to go faster, and change your riding position etc, and then you can go a lot quicker.
Anyway I've found some good things and things that need improving.
first the good;
It looks and sounds good, subjective I know, but that's how it is.
Idiot lights are right where the idiot can see them. beats having half of them on the tank (aka 80's GPz)
Excellent mirrors
Economical, 5.2 litres/100km taking it easy, 6.2 riding a bit harder and 6.7 two up.
Speedo is quite accurate 100 on Speedo, 98 on two different GPS
Things that are not so great
Side-stand is a long way forward on the frame, have forgotten that is still down when walking the bike back out of the garage and almost tipping it over.
Also, putting the side-stand down you can hit the gear lever, not so good if engine is running.
The speedo dial is at 30kmh intervals. Our speed limit or 100km/h is right between 90 and 120. it is hard to read quickly, am I doing 98 or 112.
I have resorted to putting bits of tape on the speedo at 100-110 range, just so I can quickly see if I about to get a speeding ticket or not.
Engine stutter and backfire at low speed/low load, especially round town, not that I ride it in town often, but it would be good to have it behave itself in this situation.
That's about it, for now looking forward to a couple of good rides over the Easter break. Got to ride conservatively as the authorities will be ticketing any vehicle 4kmh over the limit.
