Hi - the lights on my dash (not the LCD which is fine) flicker on and off and even though the battery reads 12v and the bike starts/runs fine the voltage reading on the dash is 9v so there is obviously a bad connection somewhere. Before I randomly start stripping/cleaning connectors (which I have done once before a couple of years ago) I wondered if anyone might have an idea of which connectors are likely suspects and where I can find them (I'm hoping I don't have to remove the tank as I hate getting those fuel line connectors off!) Thanks for any help or advice.

Solved the problem so I thought I would post back here in case anyone has a similar problem. Symptoms are flashing lights on the dash (neutral light, stand down light, indicator lights, etc) and the voltage reading low on the dash even though the voltage at the battery reads fine and the bike starts/runs fine. Note my computer screen was fine - no problems with the LCD panel.

Siting on the bike there is a multi-block connector under the front left hand side of the petrol tank. It can be reached without completely removing the tank if you remove the retaining nut under the seat and lift the tank up and to the right - you can wedge the tank up securely while you work under it. There is more than one connector in the area of interest - the one with six connections (including two yellow wires joined on one side) was the problem. In fact I had an issue with it a couple of years ago when corrosion had stopped the charging circuit from working and I cleaned it up, but it had rotted so badly now I decided to just cut it out and solder the wires together.

If you do have a similar problem just be aware that last time I had an issue with this connector I ended up stranded when my battery completely discharged and I had to get the bike trailered home - so this time even though my bike was running fine despite the dash light problem it may indicate an impending more serious issue.
