My next order of business will be cleaning out the carborators - Any sugguested literature/tips before getting started?

This is my first motorcylce and I'd like to learn as much about the Guzzi as I can (without getting in over my head) & limit my reliance on the local mechanic if possible...any info helps!

Also, any sugguestions as far tools need to guzzi maintaince and/or repair? I need to start assembling an arsenal of tools...

I've got (most of) the workshop manual but if anyone has a copy out there please pass that along as well

Thanks!

A good source for the older manuals is here. http://guzzitek.org/gb/accueil_gb.htm If tehbike is running well, you may not need to clean the carbs. But if you do, cleaning the carbs, pretty easy on these as they are quite simple. Remove the jets and let them soak in carb cleaner. After soaking blow them out with compressed air. (be sure to have a good grip on them) Do not use wire through the jets as it may increase the hole size. Remove the air bypass screw and blow carb cleaner through there as well as all fuel passages. Also remove the banjo fitting for the fuel line and clean the fuel screen and flush the passage to the needle valve. If really gummed up, take them to a shop as most have buckets of cleaner the carb can be soaked in.
