Hey All,

I bought a V65 about 7 months ago now, and its been an interesting ride. Lots and lots of shop time, but it runs great and its a lot of fun to drive. Although the engine seems to be perfect now, there are still a couple things I need to address.

1) I would like to convert from the split foot break and make the hand brake control both calipers in the front.

2) I am having some problems in the transmission. It just hesitates to go into gear sometimes, and it also slips out of gear if I really try to give it hell. I have to ease my way to full-throttle, I can't just drop the clutch and twist my hand around as fast as possible. Also, I've heard this is very common, but it is pretty difficult to get it into neutral.

Anyone here have suggestions for 1 or 2? For 1, if you know of a good way to do that for a little less money than just dropping it off at the shop that would be great. For 2, what should I do about that? I figured its winter so I might as well look into it now. I'm in San Francisco. I'm trying to look for ways to work on this without taking it in to the shop. I've spent too much money fixing problems on that bike and I want to do something. However, I don't really have a garage, or a ton of tools at my disposal.

Thanks!

For item 2 the first thing I would check is the shift linkage adjustment. Your symptoms can be caused by linkage that doesn't fully engage the dogs, that is, make sufficient movement in the desired direction.
