2005 V7 Breva Odometer stuck on 99999

I am pretty surprised to listen to such a problem, being a microcontroller programmer myself.
I cannot believe there can be such a clumsy programmer for the dash controller!

Not surprising but disappointing. Remember the supplier was the lowest bidder.

Took some pictures today:

If you happen to disassemble the instruments I would be interested in a close up photo of the PCB to see i f I can "phisch" any useful data.

I wonder if the problem lies in the ECU and not the instrument cluster. The instruments, I assume, are dumb. That is they don't have a memory.
I am curious,
So hypothetically lets say that I bought a used instrument cluster from a bike with 25 miles on it and put it on my bike, I would still see the actual miles from my bike displayed not the 25 miles from the parts bike? correct?

No, I don't think so. I know that is not how the big block Guzzi's work. Although it could be a good idea to do it that way.

!8mths ago I came across the same problem. I can only guess the mileage on my bike. The company who made the dashes are called - digitech. However they are very difficult to communicate with and have heard they refuse to take responsibility for their faulty product and would rather blame it on Guzzis. However as all the dashes have this problem, Then I think they need to be accountable. I have a 2008 model

You can buy a cheap € 10 Sigma bicycle computer. They can do 199 kmh and count another 99999 kms..

If someone has a faulty dash stored and tries to find someone take a shot at this problem I'd be more than happy to have a look now that I have at last set up a place to accommodate my electronic tools but I live in Greece and courier costs are too high for my bankrupt wallet...

...ehm, let me rephrase:
Now that I have finally found a place to set up a working bench for my electronics stuff (bankrupt, moved to a mountain village 18 months ago),
if someone takes care of courier fees to and from central Greece,
I 'll gladly investigate and maybe solve this problem free of charge for you just out of personal curiosity.
No warranty of any outcome since I do not know the topology of the circuit and I do not have any schematics at hand to make my task easier.
So there is a small chance of receiving a unit in worse condition that you sent it to me but it may worth the risk for a dash collecting dust in garage pile.
PM to me if interested.

there are quite a few instrument repair specialists around now
soemof them started off with the older mechanical instruments and now cater for electronic equipment as well
surely one of them will be able to rectify this easily

Hi Everyone,
My wife was so proud of reaching 100,000 She stopped and took a pic of her odometer at 99999 and was suprised thats where it stayed. We are using the trip meter to count every 1000 to use as a service record.
Cheers, Chris.

Well, a friend of mine sent me a blown Aprilia dashboard similar to the Griso's panel and I see an eeprom chip on the pcb which probably holds all this data but it is a different circuit to the 750 panel...

I have a working speedometer reading in mph that I pulled off a 2004 Breva 750. From memory, the odometer reads around 5,000 miles. I could offer it for sale if you are interested. PM me.

Km or miles? What major repairs during that period?
Hi sign216,
Not many problems with the 750 breva. A relay (I have the number writen down) that controled the ignition and fuel pump became intermittant, TPS was also changed the engine wouldn't keep constant RPM (Jerking) I did change the uni joint around 60,000km. The one replaced felt ok I did it as an insurance. and a set of front wheel bearings. Very happy with the bike (Happy wife happy life)
Cheers Chris.
