2012 Stelvio NTX Horn fom Hell UPGRADE

Here are the pics of the horns installed inside the right hand fairing. Tight fit but managed to fit them in quite nicely. Had to bend the horn brackets a little to fit inside the space.

From the front end.

First horn installed on the threaded coupling holding on the fairing. Unscrewed it from its hole and put the bracket behind it. Plenty of thread left on the coupling. Had to bend the bracket to offset the horn closer to the bike to miss the fairing.

Second horn installed using the top left oil cooler mounting bolt. Had to bend the bracket into an "L" and drilled another hole in it.

Wiring was run along the bottom of the tank and wired directly to the battery using the harness and relay from the stebel. Already got to use it a couple of times.

Perfect fit and still plent of room for air to the jug if it even makes a difference from this location....

I bought the stebel but after seeing your post ,I am going to go your route!!, now, where to source those fiamms?

If you can't get them locally, I see Amazon.com has them for $9 or so. Just make sure you get the Freeway blaster version with one low tone horn and one high tone.

A autoparts store should be able to get them for you.

I managed to find a pair of fiamms locally, they used to be freely available here, but not any more as we slip into 3rd world country status! paid about $18 for the pair , but, how would i know if they were freeway blasters or std fiamms, the official fiamm site catalogue says nothing about freeway blasters. I have fitted the stebel onto mu Ute, and love it, but its a little too bulky for the roads i intend travelling on, on my Stelvio

so , i found the freeway blasters on amazon. As per usual they will not send them to me in south africa, but the relay and fuse holder they will!!. But, what you can answer for me is, what do they mean by
high or low note one or two terminals as per amazon . Is it that ,if you link two termenals the tone of the horn changes

THink amazon has it a little confused, unless that is some special horn....

They come in either a high tone or a low tone. They can be install in systems that either use one wire or two wires.

On our system we would be hooking up two wires to each horn. One positive wire and one ground (have to split the wires from the +ve and -ve from the battery. On a one wire system the positive wire is used and the ground is made by mounting the unit to a grounded area on the bike (it comes with a jumper for the other terminal. It does not change the tone of the horn, but does not make it as loud.

Hope this help.....

done and dusted , couldnt get freeway blasters used standard fiamms with a fiamm disc hooter replacing the std hooter , may not be as loud as the stebel ,or the freeway blasters ,but ,i reckon they are loud enough!!!
